Vent about chuch...sorry so long...

So the priest that we've been dealing with since we got engaged recently just told us that he's going on vacation for the time period around our wedding. I asked him who was going to officiate at the wedding. He told us to just pick another priest or deacon.

So I've been trying to call another priest, father A, at the parish and according to the receptionist he just isn't good at returning calls. It's now been 2 and a half weeks of leaving messages for this priest. He finally calls me back tonight and I missed his call by 10 minutes so I called back thinking I would catch him. Another priest answers the phone and says, 'Do you know what time it is?' I said, well father A just called and left a message so I thought I could finally catch him.' He then connected me to his voicemail, but father A actually picked up. I explained how the first priest was going on vacation and we had hoped that he could officiate, and his response was, 'well, that's a possibility, but even if I can't someone will be there........'

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! SOMEONE WILL BE THERE???? IS THIS A JOKE?? It would kinda be nice to know who's marrying us!!!

And on top of that I asked if we could meet with him and he asked if it was really necessary....YES, IT IS NECESSARY...at the very least, don't you think it would be nice to meet the people that you MIGHT be marrying?!

I'm so done with all this BS...is it July 29th yet?!

So annoying!! Our priest is SO SLOW at getting back to us also... What is the deal with that??? I always wonder what could they possibly be doing??

I hear all the time lately about priests not being available for weddings they are suppose to do. Also, you would think priest, of all people, should be more cooperative!

Originally we were supposed to meet with our priest and we ended up meeting with the Deacon ( who is awesome)

Then we met with the Deacon again, so we kind of figure he would be marrying us....

But when I called to confirm the rehearsal time, they were like oh, they have both Fr. Ryan and Deacon John down for you

So I actually still don't know who is doing the ceremony

The church is Maria Regina in Seaford. I just don't understand it...

I told one of my BM about this and she said that she'll get ordained online and will officiate at the wedding if no one shows up because I'm done calling them. On my program, I'm just putting officiant everytime I was going to put the priest's name just in case someone new decides to show up. I completely understand if an emergency arises and the original priest cannot make it, but I still have 2 months. If they know that an emergency is going to come up 2 months out...well, sign them up for sainthood because that is truly a miracle!!!!!!!!!
