I got a call that my BM dresses are in. I said ok. They said my BM's have to call to schedule a fitting. I was trying to coordinate a day we could all go. Out of curiosity I called to make sure everyday is ok to come in. She said no sorry just Tuesdays and Thursdays. No one ever told me this! If I would have known this I would not have ordered from them!! I have my sister who lives in Manhattan and can't come out during the week and I have other BM's that can only go on the weekend. She said sorry the seamstress only works on those 2 days. They only have ONE seamstress. That scares me I hung up very annoyed. I called back and they said the only option is to bring the dresses to another place!!!! I am so angry!!!
Thank you for letting me vent It always makes me feel better.

Re: Vent about Macy's Bridal Salon!!!!!!!
I was a bridesmaid recently and the dresses were also purchased from there. I went through the same problem. However, I told the girl that the only day I can come in is on Friday because I work and I go to school full time and she gave me friday. I don't think they only have one seamstress, they just have different seamstresses working on different days. I think they wanted all of us to stick with one seamstress and they wanted us to only come in on her days... but there was no way. When I went in on Friday.. a month later for the 2nd fitting (b/c it was crooked the 1st time) I felt like they were really annoyed to see me. It took them so long to bring m in the room and I heard them talking about the days in the back. Well, I was happy that I had the experience of bridesmaids dress before I purchase my gown. Sorry this is happening to you, maybe you can ask to speak to a manager. Good Luck

Re: Vent about Macy's Bridal Salon!!!!!!!
Im using Macy's in Manhasset.
No way in HELL I can make it from NYC (where I work) to Manhasset for a fitting NOR can I take a day off since I need every day I have for my honeymoon.
They tried to say no at first but didnt really push too hard on that. My first fitting is this Saturday. I simply said 'no'.
Good Luck
ETA: which Macy's are you at? My Macy's lady (fay) works on the side and will probably do weekends if you want her info.

They have been so rude to me lately If they were like this in the beginning I would have never bought them there. Maybe I will pull all of them out and have them done somewhere else. My Mom's dress is there too

You should try to speak to a manager there make a point that you are angry. Don't do it on the phone, go there in person it always works best. Then they have to worry about the other customers listening to your conversation. I thought they were a little rude myself, considwering you are giving them all of this money, when you could have went almost anywhere else to get the dresses. I've heard it from many people, but only problems with bridesmaids dresses. havent heard anything negative about bridal gown purchases.

Re: Vent about Macy's Bridal Salon!!!!!!!
Thanks!! I will go down there next week. I mean there is no reason to be rude. I was acting very sane and polite.
It is at the Macy's in Lake Grove. I just hope they don't mess up my mom's dress. She will be so devistated. I don't want her to have any bad experiences or else I am going to get very crazy

Re: Vent about Macy's Bridal Salon!!!!!!!
maybe a different tailor is a good idea... my girls got their dresses from David's Bridal and we just picked them all up w/o alterations... they will go to a tailor or something in town... I figure they may be cheaper than a 'wedding seamstress'...

Re: Vent about Macy's Bridal Salon!!!!!!!
The only thing I can tell you is its a known fact that there are less and less seamstresses these days......and I am sure Macys is quite understaffed in that department and its probably an issue beyond their control.....that is probably why they can take what they get and that is having a seamstress who makes her own hours ---

Re: Vent about Macy's Bridal Salon!!!!!!!
I'm having the same frustration with Macy's Bridal ... that and the fact that their prices are like double any other salon. I am going to be in Italy until the end of August, and only have ONE THURSDAY in between when I get home and when I leave for the wedding, and they still told me I had to come on Tuesday or thursday to get my FIRST FITTING, and that I had to pick it up on a Tues or Thurs. This basically means I have to get fitted, and it has to look perfect, bc either way I'm brining it home that night. IT's so annoying and nerve-racking.
