Vent: bad week

Hey ladies....i haven't been around much this week. I'm on vacation from work and Tuesday I was supposed to take my e-pics. FH was coming home early from work to get ready but he came home abnormally early and told me that he had been laid off from work. Right now it's really just sinking in. We are definetly still getting married and all exactly as we had planned but we had planned out the next few years as if he would have this job for a good deal of time. Unfortunetly now, that is not the case.

Needless to say I re-scheduled my e-pics for July 17th because neither I nor FH were in any mood to smile yesterday (our photographer was more then nice when I called them on such short notice). Fortunetly, my dad (who owns his own business) has some work right now so he'll be doing that to keep us on our feet.

I just....feel so bad for FH. His job promised him all of these things for his future then yanked the rug out from under him. He works so hard and I just can't imagine how he feels.

Right now, we are just hoping that everything works out, our plans for the next few years are pretty much f*cked but right now, we just need to get past the wedding. Cross your fingers for us

I'm so sorry your FH was laid off. I am a firm believer of everything happening for a reason and I truly believe that this just opens the door for bigger and better opportunities for your FH

It's odd because FH said he felt like a weight had been lifted and he didn't know why...I don't think it was because he expected to be laid off (he definetly didn't, he was a department supervisor) but we have been talking about moving alot for the past few months the thing stopping us was that he was so set-up (or so he thought) with his previous job it would have been stupid for us to do so. Maybe this is our chance to do something else and maybe we were on the wrong path.......the universe has a weird way of working itself out. I just hope it works in our favor.

Im so sorry! I was always taught when one door closes another opens....hopefully that holds true for you and FH !!

Sooooooo sorry! DH and I just recently went through the same thing. He was out of work for a month and it really put us in a hole since we were going on a cruise the following week with our kids and the day he was let go was on our 5yr. olds birthday. It'll come together, thank god your dad has something for him in the mean time.

everything will be fine. i know it's scary right now, but you guys will be fine.

what does he do? maybe someone here can help find him a new job?

it's true! Life has a funny way of helping you out. As cheesey as it sounds, everything does happen for a reason.

Im sorry this happened to you guys FH and I had a similar situation except he got laid off a week before he had reconstructive surgery, so not only was he out of work but he didn't have insurance and was immobile for 6 weeks. But everything will work out for you guys, FH will find a great new job that he loves and it could be even better than his last one! Keep your head up!

I'm so sorry for your FH. MY Fh has been laid off before too and with saving for the wedding and your future, it could be very stressfull. Luckily he'll be doing something wtih your dad for the time being though. Just support him knowing that its very hard for him to. If you ever need to talk, you can FM me.

i know what you mean though - MAYBE this will be for the best bc you can REALLY think about where you want to live and not just be limited by his job.

I know that because of FH's business we can't even leave Queens, maybe Brooklyn and even Nassau is pushing it. . . so it really limits us and I wonder what choices we would make if we could REALLY just think about what was best for US and not his job!
