Vent: Bumping your own posts

Vent: Bumping your own posts

Is it just me or does anyone else find it extremely irritating when someone bumps their own post like 2 hours after they posted it the first time because no one has responded? If we want to respond we will!

sometimes it is too much, but sometimes when the boards are really active a post can get pushed down really quickly.....and it can be irritating especially when you are looking for help with something.....jmho

I agree. If the boards are busy the post can get lost. 2 hours later there are new people on the boards and it makes sense to bump.

I don't think it's annoying if a post got bumped down too quickly and someone wants a response.

I agree... If I ask something and no one answers, I will bump it up later for a possible response from anyone new that may be on the board. People come and go on here all day long, I don't see a problem with the bumping. If no one answers at one time, maybe someone at a later time will be able to help!!

I don't mind the bumping so much, especially when the boards are really busy.

What gets me crazy is when someone asks a question and if they don't receive an answer fast enough they delete the post and title it Nevermind with one of these guys an hour after the first post.

like the others said--- it depends.

I only usually bump when i post something at night and i don't see it got many responses, ill bump it for the day people... or vice versa.

Some people only post at night, or only during the day. So i like to make sure both shifts get a chance to help me.

Yes, sadly I have done that once or twice. But it is not a mature thing to do and I will admit that

I don't mind it if someone is simply bumping it to find an answer to their question.

Its not annoying. If they bump it, maybe its for people that recently logged on. I miss some posts so when its bumped its the 1st timne I see it.

I don't mind at all. Like someone said. The boards do go fast
and your question can get lost so if you want answers you have to bump.

I do it...

that gets to me too, but otherwise I don't mind much.

I don't care about people doing that, mainly because I don't have the time or energy to search through pages of posts that I missed, so there are a lot of threads that I would not see if noone did that.

I do get a little annoyed when someone bumps something more than twice without getting a response. Then it gets to be a little much.

i dont' see any problem with bumping your own post. some ppl like me only look at page 1 or 2...i'm not going back 7 pages everyday.

or

prehaps different people are online 2 hrs later and that person may have an answer

if you see the topic and don't have anything to say, don't go in.

i agree 100%!!!! or people who post and then 90 minutes later post again all upset that nobody responded. you have to give people a chance to see the damn post before they can respond!! certain people take it VERY personally when their posts are not responded to - like it's some kind of contest or something!!
