VENT: Dress shop in Floral park
I am 5 mos pregnant and the MOH in a wedding NEXT WEEKEND.
I went in to try the dress on a few weeks ago - it was big. They suggested I order extra material 'just in case' - so I did and it cost $100.
One of the BM has the same FIRST name as I do. She is the same size as I was BUT she had to order extra length b/c she is tall
I go to for my first fitting today and the dress is sooooo long and big on top - much longer than it was a few weeks ago. It turns out that they gave her MY dress. It is already altered so there is nothing they can do. Her name is on the tag of the dress I tried on today so I know that's what happened.
They fixed the straps and told me to go back on Monday to do the hem. I said the top is too big. They said it would take a lot of work to fix it..... I'm like (?) SO?????
I go upstairs to pay and they are trying to charge me to alter the hem!!! I said I'm not paying - this isn't my dress and I didn't order extra length. They try arguing with me - oh the other girl is pregnant. I said, no I am pregnant and you gave her MY dress. Her name is on the dress.
They said, well you would have had to have the hem done anyway... No one even bothered to apologize. They were giving me attitude like this is MY fault....
GRRRRRR..... AND they only take cash....
