Okay - so Dave's last name is Harrigan......okay, fine.
Last year when my MOH got married (best friends for 20 years), we received an invitation to David Harrington and Jessica....
Told her about it and she made a big to do about it. Last Christmas, same thing to D Harrington and J blah blah...
Told her about it again... Please realize that Dave & I have been together for 5 years now...
We JUST got a Christmas card from her and her husband...and guess what?????
D HARRINGTON AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I texted her & told her that i love the card but if we get another piece of mail for Harrington, i'm rejecting it because no one lives here with that name....
I know i'm being crazy - but COME ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There's even that SONG - H, A, DOUBLE R, I, GAN spells Harrigan....GET IT RIGHT!!

It would annoy me too! My aunt and uncle who are also my godparents have ALWAYS spelled my name Rachael... its Rachel... They even got me a beautiful bracelet engraved RACHAEL!!! This has gone on for 22 years... I just got a Christmas card and they spelled my name RACHEL!!!!! I couldnt believe they actually got it right!!!
Oh my gosh - same for me!!! Everyone spells my name like that and I've never met another Rachel that spells it RachAel. Drive me nuts.
I can see why the Harrington debacle would get on your nerves!

I think the next time you guys are just hanging out start humming the song. When she asks what you are humming just start singing it. Maybe she'll get it right after that.

I'm sorry about your friend! I would get mad too! If she can't spell it right now how is she going to spell it right after you get married? It's not a hard name either, the first year ok, but after 5 she should really learn how to spell it especially since you TELL her the right way!!! Does she maybe think it's a joke now?

I hate that especially when its really an easy name to remember- and spell for that matter.
I get mad when people mispronounce and spell my name- it's like 'come on now!'

Ohh! I thought I was the only one who made a big deal about this! Future husband's last name is 2 separate words beginning with a lower case d. All of his mail comes in wrong and he has given up telling ppl about it! You have to hear me spelling it out to vendors...Loooooweeer case d, e, l SEPARATE/SPACE then Caaapitalllllll R! If I take his name they must spell it right!

Maybe he should just change his name to Harrington...LOL Some people just dont get it. I have one friend who always spells my fiance name Creg on cards even though it's Craig. When I email her and spell it Craig she never picks up on it.
