my landlord is a deuchebag....i am so pissed. i have lived here for 2 years...always pay everything on time...no problems. we have had problems with the fridge and sink repeatably and no help at all with the fridge from them.
my lease is up sept 30.
i was told from the beginning i can get out early anytime, i just need to give 30 days.
well..i didnt know july 1 that my mom's tenet would be out. i found out yesterday...so instead of a month's notice it would be 3 weeks.
i call him and he wont budge. i said we will still be out july 31...or we will pay a week into august if you want..he is saying 'well, then i cant guarantee you will get all of your security back.'
FUCCCCCCCK YOU. im like what if the place is in perfect condition? 'we can still keep it all.' what a piece of shiiiiiiit.
oh, and we have two new air conditioners that we wont need/wont fit. i said maybe the new tenet can buy them from us or you can? Nope. 'Take them or we will throw them out.'

as long as you pay until your lease is up then there is NOOOO reason why you shouldnt get all of your security back... thats ridiculous... hes just being a fcuk head

well, we are backing out of our lease a month early....but my landlord told me from DAY ONE when I signed a 2 year lease, I can get out WHENEVER i want.
this new guy im speaking to, says it has to be 30 days notice...we are giving 23 days notice.

he's saying he's not going to give us our security because we didn't give him 30 days notice about leaving our lease early....our lease is up sept 30...we are moving out july 31.
i will sell the acs...that's not the big deal. i just hate that he isn;t going to give us our security back

read your lease very carefully... unless it says those specific words in the lease he has no right to keep your security...
i would go to small claims court

hahahah this is what Dino wanted to do. he got so pissed. but the landlord told us he would sue us if the place is destroyed.... fukkk you. why should we keep it nice if you're not giving us our security!

i didn't think my landlord would give us the deposit back, so we didn't pay our last month's rent. we told him that we would pay him for any problems if he found any, but that he had indicated that he wouldn't give our deposit back, and we didn't want to take a chance. it turned out fine. he was upset when he first heard, but he got over it and there haven't been any problems.

I'm a landlord and this guy sounds like a total d**o**uche..Seriously, with my last tenants I let them move in 11 days earlier than the Lease Start date and didn't charge them rent. They gave me 2 weeks notice and I just told them I would retain their security deposit as the last months rent because they breached the 1 year lease by moving out 6 months early.
Read the Lease carefully and see whether the LL is entitled to retain your Security Deposit because of the early notice. You really DON'T want to go to Landlord-Tenant court, that place is a total zoo and even though judges tend to favor tenants, you will need to waste time and money just to fight your landlord. Not. Worth. It. JMO.

I know. he's just not being considerate at all...and we are good tenets. it doesnt say that anywhere in the lease, so i will mention it. Dino told me not to pay for this month and i should have listened....but i was trying to do the right thing. seems im going to get screwed for that! thanks for your inut
