VENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MIL..........

K YOU ALL KNOW THAT SHOW RAYMOND RIGHT?! WELL MY FUT MIL IS RAYMONDS MOTHER......LONG STORY SHORT I PICKED OUT BM'S DRESSES THAT MY BRIDAL SHOP DOSEN'T CARRY THAT DESIGNER. SO I CALLED THEM UP & ASKED THEM TO CHECK IF THEY CAN ORDER IT, THEY CALLED ME TODAY WHILE I WAS @ THE DINNER TABLE WITH HER & SAID THEY COULD GET IT IN (GREAT PRICING AS WELL), BUT SINCE IT IS A DESIGNER THEY DON'T CARRY I WILL NEED TO ORDER IT WITHIN THE NEXT FEW WEEKS,ALSO THE DRESSES WILL BE DISCONTIN......

SHE HAD A FIT & SAID WELL THOSE GIRLS ARE GONNA LOOSE & GAIN WEIGHT, YOU CAN'T ORDER THEM NOW, THEY WILL FADE,THEY WILL SMELL FROM THE STORAGE ROOMS....AND SO ON IT WENT FOR 15 MINS OF THIS FRICKIN NON-SENSE UNTIL I SADI WELL IT IS WHAT I WANT & TOUGH IF THEY NEED TO GET THEIR DRESSES ALTERED ALITTLE, THATS WHAT THE DRESS PEOPLE ARE THERE FOR.....& I SLAMED THE DOOR & LEFT....

grrrrrrrrrr AM I WRONG FOR BEING PISSED???????????????? THESE ARE THE DRESSES I REALLY WANT, THINK IT'S EARLY????

please tell me i am right for wanting to order them now...........................

I have the opposite.. MY MOTHER is the one criticizing EVERYTHING i choose!
I decided to start dress shopping early cause I knew I would have a hard time and she thought that was absurd and to wait. Well, we went and she finally saw why we started early. Luckily I found the one,and I'm done. I then showed her the BM dresses and she thought they were totally inappropriate (called them 'garden party-ish, not for a wedding') but then went on, as she ALWAYS does, to say that it's my wedding, so whatever I say goes. So after hearing this for about a zillion times, i just now say 'You're right mother, it is MY wedding' and I walk away!

Sorry you are having such drama so early on....keep your chin up, get through the tough moments, and then come back to us and tell us your tale- we'll always understand!

She does this with everything, also NWR! She thinks she knows it ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLL, and i mean it ALLLLLLLLL.. Ladies & gentlemen we have a human dictionary here. Meanwhile everything she says is right, is IN REALITY wrong. My FH is annoyed by her as well but just walks away from it & ignores it. I on the other hand can't listen to it anymore, I'm getting stuck with a dress that i hate for my BM's, i finally picked out one that all the girls like so i am not budging on this one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think they have control issues.. honestly..
cause my mother keeps having nightmares and when my dad asks her what they are about she says 'i dreamed that it was erin's wedding day and I had no control over anything'... he's like 'thats correct dear, because it is her day not YOURS!'lol.. gotta love him!

She had so much to say about the dress I chose for myself.. it wasn't busy enough.. it has no beading.. she doesn't like the skirt.. etc....at the end of it all, I really didn't care because I have to wear it not her! And I'm paying! So nah, nah, nah nah! (I'm sooooo mature! )

U feel my pain!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW she bugged you about your own wedding gown.....GRRRRRR!

You have every right to be mad....Who cares about whether or not your BM's gain or lose weight...This is why there are things called alterations...Luckily no one gave me a hard time when ordered either the BM or my dress...Prime example with alterations, we ordered the BM dresses in Nov 04 & at that time there was no big deals...Now both my FSIL & my SIL are pregnant..No one will be pregnant at the wedding but they will be losing the baby weight...They are fine with it & realize that they might need extra alterations...

Your BM's weight can not be a problem or factor when ordering dresses...You want things done on your terms & it is YOUR wedding!!! Plus they are discontinuing the dress!

Chrissy, don't let you FMIL get you upset...Order the girls dresses & leave it at that...

You have every right to be pissed. It's your wedding, your choice of dresses, etc. Don't mind her. You do what YOU want. If they need to be altered, so be it. Thats why they have seamstresses in the world.

You are totally right first off the BM dresses take like 6 months to come in and everyone always has to get alteration done to the dresses

Tust me you aren't the only one having problems with FMIL

Oh I know what you mean about your MIL thinking she knows it all she pulls that crap with me. She thinks cuz she raised 10 kids that she criticizes me with things that I do with my daughter. For example I started giving her that yo baby yogart oh my she hit the fan. My daughter is 7 months. I told her the doctors say its fine. That just one example I can go on but this is about weddings.

I know right, she feels she has to butt into everything...............She even talked smack about our bedroom set, since her & my FIL are giving us the $$ for it she thinks she can tell us what place to buy our furn from......UMMM noooo we will pick out what we want & what we think will fit into an apartment...............

LOL My mom is Raymond's mom, George Costanza's mom and Kenny's mother from South Park with little hints of Harvey Fierstein all wrapped up into one bundle of fun. MIL is not much better. I feel your pain. Good luck and drink a few.

Awww sorry to hear that, If the doc said it's OK to give it to her then u do it....She is your child.. OH my gosh can u imagin when i have a kid with this mil, im gonna have to move out of state~
