Vent session. I've been looking for a week now.Im so confused on what style to get. And no dress has wowed me yet. :( I know it's only a week but every dress is starting to look the same to me!!
Anyone else have this problem? I feel very discouraged...
(PS- And Im finding a lot of the bridal stores to not be as helpful as I had imagined.)

Oo I know the feeling!! Went to 3 bridal salons and tried 28 dresses. My advice stick with ur gut if u want a certain style go with that! If someone has a suggestion try it if u don't love it go right back to urs! I'm not sure where u r from or how far u r willing to go, but go to pronovias at their flagship store in NYC there service is amazing! The lady got my dress on the second try ! She really paid attention to what I was saying.P.s prices aren't to crazy!

I know exactly what you mean. I went to three different places over one month and tried on almost 50 dresses. I didn't know what I wanted at first. I was going for a ballgown but the consultant helping me suggested I try on a mermaid style gown and I fell in love. Before this, I was SO anti-mermaid. From then on, I only tried on mermaid style dresses and finally found the one!Keep an open mind. Don't say no to anything. Just try all of them on! What doesn't look good on the racks may end up looking awesome on you.

Vent Session: Finding THE Dress Problems
I think I have everyone beat, I tried on over 100 dresses and went to about 10 places. My issue was not only did I not love any of them, my mother is very hard to please and found an issue with every single one, including the one I ultimately chose. I was very discouraged. The one I selected didn't make me cry or give me any 'this is it' feelings, but I did feel the most comfortable and sexy in it. I found it without my mother, kept thinking about it and dreaming about it and finally brought her to see it. I purchased it and didn't feel right about it since she didn't like it. I went back a third time and as soon as I saw it I felt happy and I knew I made the right choice.Give yourself some more time. It's a lot to consume in one week. Take a dress break this way it gives you some time to think about the ones you tried and determine whether you miss them or want to look for something new.
Oh and to your PS - yes, you are right, many of the bridal stores weren't that helpful. I got mine at Kleinfelds. The sales person pulled it for me and on the hangar I didn't like it. I kept trying on others and she just kept saying wait until you try this one on. She knew it would be perfect for me. I also found RK Bridal very helpful.

I went to three salons and the last two weren't helpful at all.,,but at Bridal Suite in Bay Shore, I kept telling Marie what I liked and didn't like (mostly didn't like) about every dress that my family tried to pull for me and she pulled ONE dress and that was it. After I tried it on she pulled some similar ones, but she and I knew right away that I had fallen in love with the first dress.

I had the same problem. I was getting confused. I dried on about 55 dresses I wanted all lace with a train I went to bayshore as well and worked w Marie. Though the didn't have the dress I purchased in stock to try on (tried it on AT&T another place they called the designer got me a better price. I wasn't sure it was the one so Marie put me in some that I wanted and ten completely different designs. Then I knew !

I looked at all the local shops websites, picked out the one I wanted, tried it on and bought it! I looked at dresses for months online before I found the one I wanted. It was easier for me since I knew the style and price range I wanted.

Definitely not! I was trying on 10 to 15 at the least at each place I went to. It was exhausting!

Bring your most honest friend, but not more than 3 friends! just a few close people to help you figure out what you want. On say yes to the dress, its always a mess when they have 8 people with 8 opinions

Vent Session: Finding THE Dress Problems
I have only been to one salon, but i agree that some consultants aren't as helpful as you'd expect. I did go shopping with my FSIL for her dress, and we went to a whole bunch of salons in the city. What I liked about them is that the consultants really were basically following us around taking our choices in dresses for her to try on.I'm going to two more salons this weekend, Bridal Reflections in Carle Place and Village Bridal in Babylon. I hope that the consultants there are a little more helpful. I gave the woman at the first place a budget, and she completely didn't stick to it. And wouldn't even tell me the price until I already had the dress on!! Anyone smart knows, don't let a bride fall in love with a dress out of her price range!!
I'm sure you'll find a dress. Just don't stress about it, take your time, and don't overwhelm yourself.
Good luck!!
