VENT SORRY

VENT SORRY

There is this stupid stupid girl I work with who is rude to me ALL THE TIME. She ALWAYS shows up 10-20 minutes late for her shift, calls me whenever I make a mistake (even when I didn't make one and she thinks I did), and once I even heard her tell someone when she thought I couldn't hear that she was going to 'Shoot' me because I didn't know what I was doing. Nevermind the fact that she doesn't TELL me what it is I'm supposed to do half the time, except for a rushed, 15 second explanation.

Then, on Memorial Day, she had her friend, another co-worker, threaten me into covering her shift for her after I refused. I ended up doing it - it wasn't that big of a deal to cover the shift, but I didn't want to do this girl any favors, you know?

So I went to the boss about it, and then this stupid Ho-Bag confronts me about it (when she's fifteen minutes late to relieve me for the 10th week in a ROW and I am going to be late if I don't leave right away, and btw I WAS late getting to I was going) so I didn't have time to argue it out with her, and now I am just angry and upset and pissed off and I don't know what to do. I really want to quit, but this is an important step in the career I'm trying to build for myself and it's SO frustrating. The boss was obviously no help, because since he talked to her it just caused more problems for me. I don't know what to do, and I just want to scream and cry and throw things at her head.

May I suggest throwing a computer monitor at ho-bag's head!!! They are not just for paperweights anymore. I think you will both feel better about it. And I'm sure that you'll find a good lawyer somewhere.

Honestly, I would just confront her.... if telling the boss has not improved things, it may be the only way.

Maybe you need to sit down and try and calmly talk to her. Ask her what her problem is with you, and why she can never make it there on time. Since you have already talked to the boss, I don't know what else to tell you good luck

what a frikkin beeeeeaytch ...

I don't really know what to say .. I know that your job (and your job advancement and gaining experience in your field) is really important to you, but its so unfortunate and unnecessary for people to behave like this towards you. Not to mention that try as we might to let it roll off your back, of course it stresses you out

I don't have really any advice (sorry!) but just lots of hugs and support for you.

How long until you move to DE? At least there is something to look forward to!

First of all, sorry you are going through this.

Second, don't quit because of her. If this is a good step in your career, you'll only end up hurting yourself. What if you quit and she's fired the next day.

Then I would just try to talk to her- find out why she has such an attitude. Ask if you did something to offend her. If she says no, then ask why she has such an attitude towards you. If she says she doesn't, I would say that you feel like she does.

If that doesn't work- just think about how sad and pathetic her life is that she has to be such a biatch. Look at you, doign what you want, broadcasting on the air, getting married in a few months to the man you love. Look how successuly you are in life!! Clearly anyone with such an attitude is not nearly as successful as you.

also, your one mistake was letting her friend threaten you into covering for her -- in the future, stick to your guns, if she's supposed to work, let her work, if you let her win once, she'll do it more often

how did the friend threaten you?

I agree with don...

They may continue to push you around now that you did them the favor of covering her shift.

She said 'If you want to work at this company, you're going to have to be more flexible.'

I Argued my point, really I did. But you're right, I did let down my guard too quickly.

She tried to pull the 'Well Nikki's been here all weekend and she's really helped you out' BS as well, to which I answered 'Nikki's never helped me and I worked 13 hours yesterday ALONE, as well as another 6 the day before that, so I've worked just as hard as she has this weekend.'

I guess I just felt like I was fighting a losing battle, you know?

These girls aren't my boss, but they're definitely higher on the totem pole, you know?

I'm P/T, they're F/T, and heads of another dept.

I don't think so. I may just go to a different boss next time though. Thing is she's now said 'if you have a problem with me, come talk to me about it instead of going to (the boss).' I'm thinking, if I can get up the nerve, next time she comes late I'll say, 'Since you want me to come to you with problems - here's one. Stop being late every week. It makes me late for wherever I have to be, it's rude, and inconsiderate.'

However then I'd have to deal with another argument, which I rarely have time for.

I usually only see her on Sundays, when she's coming in late AGAIN and I have to run for somewhere else.

There are subtle ways of getting back at someone you hate .......

my old coworker and I hated our old hag of a nasty boss so much that we decided to send her (anonymously) a subscription to Playboy AT THE OFFICE All we did was fill out a subscription card and mail it. She was mortified! And we would see it being delivered and she never mentioned it - I think she was even embarrassed to tell us that it was being sent to her!

Re: VENT SORRY

Keep a log of everything she says/does. Also list who else is around. I would talk to your boss one more time and if nothing is done just go to hr.
