VENT: Who knew getting a date would be so hard?!?!?!?

FH and I met at college so naturally we wanted to have our ceremony at the church on our college's campus. I contacted the Campus Events Office in DECEMBER and gave them a list of dates (basically every Friday in September 2012) and we still do not have a date. I called the office to follow up today and was informed that September 2012 might not be possible. I am beyond pissed right now.

Not with weddings but with other events on campus (i.e. Poster SALE!!! - Can't they move that to a different building?). When I called a month ago I was assured that it wouldn't be a problem and now I'm getting a different answer. The two things I really want are a September wedding and for the church to be at our college's church. I really could care less about everything else.

BUT just an ADVICe.... and BE AWARE...
U will get problems with CHURCH
Church gives SOOO many problems!
ask he 2010 & 2011!
Almost ALL of the 2011 girls had problems with church!
I had to wait almost TWO MONTHS for the answer!!!!!!! TWO MONTHS!!
Sorry but i dunno why Church always do da!

CALL back and ask.. I was told i coudlnt do my wedding on Sunday... i called back til I got it on a Sunday

Call back and ask to speak to someone in charge...if that doesnt work..elevate it to the president!! im serious...you are an alumni and they should be honored to be hosting an event...

Call someone who has pull there.. a dean, president someone!

Not sure where you went to school but are you able to go down there and discuss it in person? So they can pull out their calendar and actually pencil you in? I think churches aren't a fan of doing these things over the phone, they want to feel like you're goign out of your way to make it happen.

Thanks girls... Here's an update:

So yesterday, Manhattan College finally got back to us. Out of the four Fridays we gave them, they told us they only had Friday, September 7th available (which is perfect because that's the date we want) but wait it gets better. We can't start our ceremony until 4pm (and with cocktail hour at 7:30, I think we'd be cutting it close for pictures). Then they proceeded to tell me that they college will be setting up for another event downstairs in the room directly underneath the church (but that they wouldn't do sound checks or anything during our ceremony - how nice of them lol). The best part was she mentioned that the college will also be having a poster sale outside on the quad directly on the walk ways leading up to and in front of the chapel (so my guests would have to walk past that). She also said that if it rains, the poster sale would be moved to the hallway downstairs in the building (so everyone would have to walk right by it in order to get upstairs to the church).

Needless to say, I don't think we even want to have it there anymore. It just sounds like there will be too much commotion going on around us. Luckily, my mother called a church nearby and they have our date available, so we're probably just going to go with them (have our ceremony earlier around 2pm) and then go to Manhattan's campus to take pictures (that is if they even allow us).
