I got 99% yes. I cannot believe this. I called a couple of outstanding people and they said they were coming. I guess I should be flattered that people are coming, but at the same time, I am getting freaked out. I really wanted only 125 people max. I thought I was safe by sending out 140 invitations. People I thought would not come are coming. Now I am looking at an extra table (which I did not want to do) and another centerpiece to order. All I see is dollar signs and it is driving me crazy.
I envy those of you who had 20% decline rates.

I get nervous about the same thing happening to me. We only want 125 or 130, but there's like 160 on the list right now, and I have a feeling we'll end up with a lot more than that. It's just so much more money that we have to spend. But I guess I should save extra to prepare for that.

We would have gladly taken some of your yes responses. We invited about 190 people and had 112. We were under our minimum.

Goodness, you guys are making me feel guilty. I sent out a few obligatory invites and THEY are coming as well- that surprised me.
Also I have the issue of people putting more people than were invited.

Kysha this is the time for you to put your foot down and tell the ba$tards that added another body to the rsvp card that um NO the additional guest cannot make it. You have an excuse and you are being honest. I don't believe in that 20% no responses. It never works for me.

I mean I gave my FH a last minute surprise birthday party and I invited about 35 people, can you believe almost everyone showed up and then some. I hardly ever get declines.

Nvbrd: maybe you don't want to (it's weird) but can you call the ones that put down more than you invited (I assume they put their kids down?) - call them and say it's adult only reception or whatever...if you are that nervous about how much the hall can hold. That would **** me off. HOwever, it's hard to do that so if you can deal with it, then I would not worry about all the yes's ---- people love you and want to share in your happiness!

i agree with olgaki!!! Even though you see the $$signs now, more guests mean more $$signs for you later...... Besides... You did want to share your special day with them otherwise you wouldnt have invited them!

I am in the same boat as you - we invited 160-ish and didn't want over 125 and we are still at 135.. my response date is Aug. 5th and I still haven't heard back from most of these people!! Most of them are probably going to be yes's too...

Eternity , I am also worried about overcrowding our room at Coral House. I did not want to go more than 12 tables. This is my biggest concern more than anything.
