Vent...FMIL

its not wedding related, but FMIL is sooo annoying.

Me and FH are starting construction thursday. So we have to move some of our stuff down in the basement and we will be living in the basement while construction is going on.

Now im not stupid i know its not going to be fun and games, but she makes it out like its going to be this absolutely horrific experience and how she could never do it at her age she would go nuts etc.

I am not like her, i dont have a schedule, im not neurotic about how i do things. I will be fine, as long as i have my bed, computer TV and my dog.

She gets me more upset telling me about how bad its going to be...

ohhhhh don't even listen to her. you know yourself and how you deal with things. just because she would get totally crazed doesn't mean you will.

i am sure she's just trying to prepare you for the worst, but she shouldn't make it seem like it's going to be a disaster! you know it will be fine, so just let her ranting go in one ear, out the other, and don't even worry about it.

PS- I had no idea what I was in for when we started the construction on our house-- I WISH someone at least prepared me for it! I thought it was going to be sunshine and roses!! So while it is annoying- at least she's setting your expectations so you won't be dissapointed!

Was thinking the same thing! Just be glad you're not living with her she'd probably drive you nuts.

It's not like you'll be in the basement all the time especially if you don't get home from work till late at night.
It will also give you an excuse to do fun thngs to get out of the house on the weekends.

we used to line in SI, we were planning on living on LI, so while we waited for our house, My mom, my dad, me, and my 2 yr old brother lived in my grandmas house pretty much squished. there was only 1 extra bedroom.. It took over a year.

i dont know how we did it but we made it through and so will you!

I'm not going to lie, it's probably going to SUCK because its not going to be the same as what you are used to. but youwill adjust!
