VENTING!

I just found out that my step mother is ranting about my wedding and she even said that she did NOT like my wedding dress choice...exact words 'it is not classy enough' This is really bothering me and making me doubt my decision. I am SOOO angry/upset/hurt right now and I have no idea what to do or say...I also don't want to rat out the source so I'm stuck! The dress comment just stuck out to me amongst other things like me going over board and why do I need a bach party AND shower... Just needed to vent so I dont explode

You're always going to find people who cannot be happy for others and just keep their mouths shut.

Don't let it effect your big day. Don't let is make you second-guess the dress you love.

People will look at her and realize what a jerk she is for saying such things.

i agree your dress isn't 'classic' but there's absolutely nothing wrong with that! i really like it - you look great in it!

not sure why your step mom would even say that to anyone ... but i'm also not sure why the 'rat' would tell you about it! if i knew something like that, i'd def keep it to myself!

I almost feel like eloping now but every girl should have the wedding she wants and deserves! I feel like it's a bit of jealousy.

I know it's not classic because of the tissue tool at the bottom but the shape of it and overall look to me had a bit of that classic look to it....I don't know why I am fighting this with myself. Originally I wanted just a lace gown VERY classic but when I put this dress on, I LOVED it.

Obviously she never got to be a MOB, and maybe she regrets that.

That' just says it all.....you were meant to be in that dress. Trust me, the dress that I wore I didnt think would be the one that I chose because I had other ideas in my head, but when you put on THE ONE, you just know!!

DOn't worry about your stepmom...and don't elope. It sounds like a true NY style wedding is what you want...no matter what anyone else says. Go for your dream...

The beautiful part about your wedding is just that its YOUR WEDDING and it doesn't matter who the heck has something to say...and trust me people will always have something to say.
You just gotta remember its yours and FH's day, its your vision, your body to wear what you want....and you do whatever you want.

I agree on the jealousy part. Dont let her break your dreams of the wedding that YOU want. Its what makes u and FH happy.. thats it!

also, I think you have to take into consideration how much you value your stepmom's opinion. If she is someone you trust and care for very much, I could see how hurtful her comments might be. If your relationship with her isn't that strong, I'd say you have your answer. Her comments really have no merit to them.

I hope you come to peace with your decision and realize that as happy as you may want everyone to be for you, some people just can't find it in their hearts to BE happy for others and it's sad.

I agree, I think that she cannot be happy for me and that my wedding is just giving her something to complain about. What erks me is that she is one way to my face and then one way behind my back. When I showed her a pic of the dress she said it was gorgeous..come to find she is telling her friends differently. I don't really care what she thinks because she has horrible taste to begin with but just the comments hurt and because I went with a dress that was soo different than what I was going for, it just hit a nerve with me.

Ugh! I'm so sorry you have to deal with this. There is always going to be someone with something negative to say regardless of how kick-@$$ your wedding turns out. Personally I think you look gorgeous in your dress and your step-mother should feel honored that you shared what your dress looks like with her. Just try not to think about it (I know easier said than done). I mean maybe she's just jealous that she can't rock that dress the way you do!

Ummm tell her to shut the front door---- i just looked at ur dress pics in your album, amazing dress! totally perfect on you!!
