ITA...when I went there and our attendant found out I don't like veils or tiaras she kind of looked at me funny...and then while I was in the changing room I heard her telling my mother that any bride who doesn't wear a veil AND tiara is KIDDING THEMSELVES...and if they don't then they're going to look back at their pictures and not be able to pick themselves out as the bride....hello, i'll be the one with the white dress and the groom on my arm!

Re: Venting about Dress shopping !!
was the ladys name etta by any chance? lol...ugh!!! i had the same experience there...and it ******! i went, just like u to try on different styles of dresses to see what id like...thank god my aunt was with me...to help me. the lady took forever getting the dress then she was supposed to be getting me shoes...i went and picked them out quicker, my aunt got me a head piece to try on with the dress, eventually the lady came back to put her two cents in on what looked good on me and i was just so mad. after each dress i tried on, my aunt took the dress and threw it outside the door and the hanger and told the woman to come hang em up. unfotunately for me i found a dress there i really liked and i knew i was going to order it, i left that day and went back another day, complained to the manager about the customer service or lack of...and i told the woman i didnt want that lady getting the commission for the sale since she did NO work for it. if i wasnt on a budget i would have just walked out.

Just my opinion--- I hated davids--went there for the same reason and i wanted to cry--it was so bad. The service is bad and the dresses i tried on we very cheaply made. i would not suggest going there to get an idea of what types of dresses you like.

Re: Venting about Dress shopping !!
I've been there before twice as a bridesmaid and I found the service to be really bad. Both times I had to practically beg someone to come over and help me. The last time I was there the girl had no idea how to measure me. She had to call over two other people to figure out where the tape measure goes.

Re: Venting about Dress shopping !!
Ohh ohh I have to jump in on this!!!!!
Okay first of all, I requested an appt on line...no, no one got back to me within 48 hours like it said.
So, I call. I don't want to use the Lake Grove location because we had a horrible experience there. Sooooooooooooooo I call the Westbury store thinking, hey, Nassau County...might be better.
HOLD ON TO YOUR BRITCHES LADIES!!! Oh no, it was even worse!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Walked in 2 minutes early (rare for me...lol) was told I'd have to wait because there are 4 parties in with only 2 consultants. I said that I made an appointment for noon, and expect help at noon. The woman came over to appologize and I told her to be as quick as she could. My fabulous bridal party (minus one, miss her much) took off for the racks, found the dresses I had printed out (and a few more) and we got our own dressing rooms and started. She finally came over to me to check on us with the friggin order form. We're good, but we're not THAT good. Then, she disappeared!!!!!!!! We needed clips and it was like pulling teeth. We needed different sizes, again, like waiting in DMV!!
When all is said and done, my girls did a great job of making sure they didn't have to bail me out. I will try to post pics. The one other dress is still to be determined. The one I picked is out of stock, discontinued and the one they had in the showroom was horrendus, $79 or not, not worth it.

hahah ETTA!!!! Oh my sister in law worked with her.... we were glad when she disappeared. We did a better job than she did.
She got the dress but only because of the dress not the service. She got an amazing price too.

Re: Venting about Dress shopping !!
Ugh, don't get me started on David's Bridal. The only reason I bought my dress there was because I really really love the dress and I didn't want to spend too much on it because I will be changing into another outfit for the reception.
My consultant was actually very very nice, but when I went back to get my dress I found out she was fired. I guess she was too nice for them. They don't take care of their customer's like a real bridal salon would.
I'm sorry you had a bad experience, I know how you feel. I became a bridezilla when I had to get my dress; they asked for it with their terrible service.

Re: Venting about Dress shopping !!
I am so NOT getting my dress @ DB for the wedding. In January, I went there to get my Graduation Party gown. First of all, my friend & I wandered around for quite awhile before anyone even seemed to notice us. Granted, this was not THAT huge of a deal- I was getting a Grad Party dress, not a wedding gown. The lady that I worked with was nice, but she kept vanishing. My friend had to keep going off to find her; he was more helpful than she!
Then she dropped us off at the shoe/bag dept. and was like 'OK this is blahblahblahbalh she'll help you with shoes and bags.' The woman like, vanished/talked on the phone/helped other customers. I was like helloo!?!?! I need some help! Then I asked her about those chicken cutlet bra things (I asked if they actually worked, which they did NOT for me) and she was like 'ohh.. I don't know... I guess...'
Like ok, thanksss for nothing!

ITA. I've been there before and they are completely useless. The only reason I will even consider going there is because there is an Oleg Cassini dress I love and they are the only ones who carry it.
