Check your email, I sent you a list of Chinese restaurants from the Time Out NY website (via subscription). There are 79 restaurants listed in all neighborhoods and some of the restaurant names sound 'Americanized' so they might be a good solution.

Let me guess... The restaurant that was suggested was P.F. Chang's? There's one in Westbury but that's a hike from where you are. There's another one in White Plains, a hike for the in-laws.

I feel your pain. My in-laws are about an hour west of us. My parents are an hour east of us. And we're all getting together at the in-laws house this Sunday. I can't wait.

My husband is Chinese and we had a traditional Chinese wedding banquet for our Rehearsal Dinner. We went to the Chinatown in Queens. I don't know if that would be any easier for your friends then going into Manhattan, but it worked great for us. Also, we had a LOT of non-asians at the RD, including picky eaters, and they LOVED the food at the RD. FM me if you want info on the restaurant.
