venting....like really?????????????

Okay I wonder if this is happening to anyone else...if so please let me know so I don't feel alone in this insanity.

So my FH calls me and tells me that a family friend found him on facebook and sent him a message saying that she was very excited about the engagement and couldn't wait to come to new york for our wedding.....HELLO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! who said you were invited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! W*F!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay that pissed me off you have no idea. Like seriouslly really???? do people think that just because they know you from a hole in the wall that they are invited?

oh my god I want to kill someone.

LoL I totally hear you, I had so many people at work saying things like oh I can't wait till your wedding, and even writing down my date in their planners I mean it kind of makes you feel bad, but sorry it's my money and I already have 200 people on the list.

People are unreal!! I mean, c'mon!! I've NEVER said that to anybody!!

people are so unreal.....the only thing that happened that was similar was after our guest list was complete, fmil calls and says 'o christine i made up MY guest list for the wedding, just add on an additional THIRTY people!!!' I told her no!

ETA: Those thirty people were in addition to family already on the list....she wanted to add her clients and cleaning lady. Like people neither one of us have ever met before.

you dont even know how many people who i dont plan on inviting have invited themselves. people are so rude. just because you're a cousin (FH has about 1 million cousins) doesnt mean you're automatically invited. im not getting married in a knights of columbus hall where anyone can just show up with their 3 kids in tow.

on the other hand my very sweet best friend from kindergarten who i rarely speak with because he lives in FL and has 2 kids ASKED me if he was going to be invited, as opposed to ASSUMING!

the FIRST thing my mom told me when we got engaged was she sat me down and said,

'Gina, just so you know, people are going to start making lots of assumptions, and rudely suggesting that they are coming to the wedding, or may even straight up ask you if they're invited. Don't get caught off guard, DO NOT say yes to someone that's not definitely invited, just giggle and move on, or change the subject.'

Since my mom told me that, i was prepared for it, and it happened many times so far!!

one of my 3rd/4th? cousins i haven't even SEEN or thought of since im 8 found me on myspace and told me 'cant wait for the wedding!' that was funny...

some people are just f*cking stupid and obnoxious. like your FH's Friend

which is why i'm inviting everyone here so i don't hear sh*t. i only have about 12 people total in the office and i surely don't expect them all to come
