My FI and I are looking for a venue for our wedding. We've decided to have it in 2014 because my job plans vacations a year in advance and my MOH is getting married in October 2013. Also, it'd give us enough time to be able to save and make it exactly what we want.
Problem: We can't find a venue that we love at a good price point with the time of year, etc.
I love Flowerfield. We've seen Westbury Manor and Woodbury Country Club, but Flowerfield has blown us away. I'm originally from PA and it truly feels like it fits us, but the price point is extremely higher than we want to spend per person. My FI wants a Saturday for a better turnout. I would rather do April through August 2014. With those two factors the price jumps! Can anyone think of anywhere else to check out? I would like to have more to compare to.
Also, any opinions of Flowerfield or any sort of compromise that would decrease the price?

Why don't you check out Thatched Cottage, Westbury Manor, or Coral House? I'm not sure on WM prices, but I know Thatched Cottage and Coral House are very reasonable.

would you consider March at all? I looked at Flowerfield for March 2013, and I know they offer special pricing from Dec-March which was VERY reasonable. it was a good deal and they were also adding a lot of extras!
flowerfield was my 2nd choice

Yay for Flowerfield!! That's where I will be getting married! Yes, they are pricey compared to other places but you get what you pay for there as far as service, food and just overall beauty. Would you consider a Saturday afternoon wedding? That would bring down the price. What were you quoted?

Try going to Swan Club, they have a beautiful garden that looks breathtaking all year long ( not the winter so much)

Check out Leonard's of Great Neck. Well now it's called Palazzo 555. The menu is amazing and you get a lot of food. They have a few menus to pick from depending on what you want to spend. Not sure if the decor is your type though. When FH and I went to meet with our BM, we were told that July and August was cheaper since Fall months are now more popular. Meanwhile I picked October as I thought it was off-season. Never asked what the difference was as my Brother is getting married in Aug. at Russo's.

Flowerfield WILL work with you. Just go and negotiate. Tell them what you can do. If you do the end of March or early April I think they can make it work for you!
