I'm quickly planning a wedding for this summer and having trouble finding a venue. I live in Manhattan and would like something no more than an hour-ish drive.
I looked in Westchester and the Hudson Valley and fell IN LOVE this the Highlands Country Club. Unfortunately it's too small.
Any suggestions on beautiful, estate/mansion type locations on long island?
thanks everyone :)

the woodlands at woodbury is beautiful- it's a gorgeous estate and is really reasonable too compared to some other estates/mansions on the island
others that are gorgeous are oheka caste and the de seversky mansion but they are a little pricey and charge site fees

I haven't been to any of the mansions aside from Timber Point (which is more than an hour from you) and The Woodlands. But The Woodlands was GORGEOUS! I would definitely check them out.

I've heard great things about the Inn at New Hyde Park and Floral Terrace.

Ditto to the Woodlands! We're getting married there in October. We originally looked in Westchester too. Loved the Tappan Hill Mansion and the Tardytown House Estate but when we really looked at it, they were both a little out of our budget. When we walked into the Woodlands we fell in love. And the price was right!
