venue help - last request!

venue help - last request!

Hi everyone! So we are pretty sure we found the venue for our ceremony.reception, the Old Field Club. We are just unsure about it holding our guest list 175-200, and a little apprehensive about the dance floor at the end of the room instead of the middle and how that would affect the party. So I am making one last request for a venue recommendation before we book. It can be up to an hour away from NYC (LI, Westchester/Hudson Valley, and Northern NJ). We wants:
-pretty outdoor ceremony site w/ trees (preferrably no gazebo)
-hold up to 200 people comfortably
- vaulted wood ceilings (we want a rustic/lodge/ barn feel)

We are looking at the royalton and smithtown landing cc this weekend.
Thanks in advance! I just want to make sure before we book that we didn't miss any venue!

I think I responded to this before and said The Riviera. Check out Lessings too...The Sunken Meadow Pavilion...it's on the beach.

FH and I fell in love with Woodbury Country Club ... the ceremony site has a gazebo though ... and no high ceilings ... but maybe worth a shot for you to look at anyhow

Hi! I loved the the old filed club, but my fiance was not so hot on the dance floor as well, but it really is a beautiful site. We ended up booking The Riviera in Massapequa. It has the amazing wood vaulted ceilings that I wanted as well, and really nice grounds for the ceremony. It does have a gazebo which I know you did not want but you should take a look at it. :)
Good luck!

The Swan Club has gorgeous grounds and the ceremony is in a pavilion. You can check out their site for pics www.swanclub.com

Camelot room would be the room you would need to accommodate the # of guests.

i went to a wedding there earlier this year. i have to tell you this and im so sorry to burst your bubble but the dance floor thing was a BIG issue. it seemed as though the party was very divided... and the way the ceiling was not vaulted over the entire room messed up the acusics big time. the pictures were beautiful and the food was really good, but i would recommend you keep looking...

Milleridge Cottage is one wedding at a time and has a gorgeous outdoor space (right outside this room, if you want outside -- not a gazebo). We did an indoor wedding because (1) I hate mosquitoes and (2) I loved this room!!!!

It's so beautiful, and the food there is freakin incredible.

Oh, and the room there holds 300 easily but also was comfortable with the 110 we had for our wedding, so 200 would be perfect there, too.

Here are some photos my friends took in the atrium room and outside during the CH of the Milleridge Cottage:

Feel free to FM me if you have any questions.

I'm booked at the Old Field Club so I'm biased. But I do understand your concern about it being a little tight for the number of guests you are looking to have. In regards to the dance floor...I've heard that they can set up the room differently so that the dance floor is in the middle of the room. We aren't going to do this because I don't mind the dance floor at the end of the room, but it might be something you may want to consider.

Besides OFC, I also wanted to second Milleridge Cottage!!! MC was our second choice and we thought it was absolutely gorgeous. I absolutely loved the ceremony/cocktail hour room and their prices were more reasonable than OFC.
