I had a running list of 15 places to go check out for our wedding reception. Is that too much? How many were on your lists? I don't want to seem crazy for having that many places!
Just want to make sure I find the place I love!

I had a bunch on my list and then narrowed it down (mostly by getting quotes from people and location of the venue). I was originally going to see at least 5 places, but stopped at the 3rd because this was the venue we ended up choosing. 15 sounds like a lot! But if you and FH can handle looking at that many and will remember exactly what you like/dislike about the places then go for it!
FH did not want to see that many because he said they all would've blended into one another.

I do not think FH actually wants to go see 15 haha! We plan on narrowing it down definitely just the preliminary list turned out to be 15.

I contacted countless but only visited 10. FH wanted to make sure we saw all our options but our venue was the third we saw

we picked the first one we saw, so we didn't look at any others.But we had 3 on the list.
15 sounds excessive .you will drive yourself crazy..we looked at 4 places ..check out the Stonebridge country club in smithtownn..a Lessing venue..that's where we are getting married in less than 2 weeks??and we r very picky..it just underwent a new renovation completed in June and we booked it prior and when we saw it we were happy we took the risk...new pics now available on their website..good luck ..

Our original plan was to visit places that at least one of us has been to before - and if we didn't love any of those we'd move on to others. We originally had 5 on our list and went to 4 - ended up not going to Jericho terrace bc I didn't like the person I spoke with on the phone. Fox Hollow was the final venue we looked at and that is ours!

we originally had 9 venues but narrowed it down to 7 to visit we saw the first 4 and will go see the last 3 next week. We were however exhausted after the 3rd place, we believe we have found our venue but will go see the last 3 Just to make sure we have seen all of our options.

I think we looked at about 7. We found our venue on the first day. It was the 3rd we saw, and we just compared everything to it, so we ended up booking it after we checked out a couple more places to make sure.

We saw 6 places in one day. I packed snacks and drinks and made it a all day trip. We ended up picking our first one.

We saw nine and had planned to see more but Chateau Briand was the ninth & last and we knew we didn't need to see any more.

We saw about 5 venues. I emailed a lot more to get prices and if they were out of our budget I didn't even bother looking

I don't think that's too many, who knows you may not even get that far in your list! We started by only going to one ( because I was convinced that was going to be it ) and then booked 2 or 3 at a time as we came across them. We ended up seeing about 10 venues all together. Good luck!

FH and I made a list of 9 places but only went to see 5. We narrowed it down to 5 so that if god forbid we didnt like any of those 5, we would go and look at the rest. What ended up happening was we liked all of the places in some way and kind of had a hard time deciding between them, so we decided not to look at any other venue. We ended up choosing Chateau Briand, which was actually the 1st venue we saw and i also fell in love with it when i went there for New Years. Personally, I think you should go see the first 5, see how you feel after them, and then decide one whether or not you should see the other 5. Enjoy it! and try not to drive yourself crazy! :)

I looked at a lot. It is time consuming but at least you will know you are not missing anything. When we found our venue we were 100% sure we loved it.
