I had a running list of 15 places to go check out for our wedding reception. Is that too much? How many were on your lists? I don't want to seem crazy for having that many places!
Just want to make sure I find the place I love!
Thank you!

FH and I made a list of 9 places but only went to see 5. We narrowed it down to 5 so that if god forbid we didnt like any of those 5, we would go and look at the rest. What ended up happening was we liked all of the places in some way and kind of had a hard time deciding between them, so we decided not to look at any other venue. We ended up choosing Chateau Briand, which was actually the 1st venue we saw and i also fell in love with it when i went there for New Years. Personally, I think you should go see the first 5, see how you feel after them, and then decide one whether or not you should see the other 5. Enjoy it! and try not to drive yourself crazy! :)
Great choice

I think venue shopping is like house shopping... You should go see as many as you can to make sure you aren't missing out!!!

Venue list
We saw 9 in two days back to back! It was exhausting! Our second round is 6 (we narrowed it down but added 1 new one). We kind of already know which one we want, but we felt like we needed to see everything we liked again to really know.

Venue list
I was the opposite. I only had 1 on my list because I swore I would be getting married there. Unfortunately it wasn't what I expected and I had no backups or information on any other venues. I went to 3 more that I had heard about randomly from friends & luckily we found one that was perfect for us. Ended up being our 2nd out of the 4 & after 4 I was exhuasted & deep down inside I knew we had found the one. I feel like if you look at too many it could get confusing, but you should definitely have information on a few just incase the ones you really love in your head before you go don't end up working out

Venue list
We went to a bunch and even saw a couple after visiting our venue. We wanted to be sure and we quickly saw nothing compared.
It might help to make a list of things that you want in a venue. For example, I wanted a venue with great outdoor space for pictures. You also may want to consider what will be available at the venue during the dates you are looking at. Outdoor space means nothing during the wintertime!
This website has a good chart listing features at venues and a general price point. The knot does as well. Good luck!
