Venue prices - SHOCK!
I am literally in shock right now! I started emailing venues yesterday and emailed about 20 and was pleasantly surprised that a lot responded right away. A lot of the quotes I was expecting but some... Westbury Manor quoted me $160pp + tax for a SUNDAY night in October 2016. WHAT?!?! I've done a lot of research and stalking on here and have heard that WM is beyond reasonable with their pricing. I'm so disheartened.Basically we're looking to spend no more than $120pp after the ++. The only other place that gave us close to this definitely was Larkfield at $105pp++. HELP ME! I want to cry :'(

October is prime season for weddings. Everyone will be uber expensive. This is one of the reasons why we chose March instead. WM for a Sunday in March is $70pp++, after tax and 20% admin brings it to $91.25pp. Consider changing your date and you'll get far more for your money.

I was in the same boat. I started my search about a month ago and I have gone to like 14 or 15 places in Suffolk so let me know if you need any quotes! I think some of these places have a lot of nerve charging what they charge.I think the only places I have quotes for though for under $120pp after the ++ were some of the Lessing's venues, Willow Creek CC, Bellport CC and the Lombardi's venues.
Go with your heart and don't settle! Go check some places out in person because the pics you see online are deceiving for a lot go these venues. Make a list of what's important to you to have and go from there! I've shaved a few places from the list because of my must haves.

Don't be discouraged sometimes you're better off going in person. They will quote you anything over the phone usually the highest price possible here's the affordable halls based on my research I think October is considered high season though.Swan Club
Three Village Inn
Woodbury Country Club (I was surprised at the reasonable price since I read here higher rates)
Here's some places I read were affordable but never went to see:
Lessings Venues they sent me a quote via email
Fox hollow
Chateau la mer I heard both expensive/affordable
Jericho Terrace (seems to be a fav here)
Crest Hollow CC
Good luck and you will definitely find a hall within your budget do not allow email quotes to sway you away!!! Go in person tell them your max and negotiate I did this and got exactly what I wanted. The hall I got over the phone was not what I got in person. GL w ur search!

Is it a holiday weekend? Sometimes they look at a Sunday as a Saturday if its Columbus day weekend.

Thanks everyone! I'm waiting to hear back from many of the places you've mentioned. The truth is my dream venue was thatched cottage and I'm devastated that we can't take the chance of booking them. I've heard milleridge cottage is a similar feel so we are making an appointment to meet with them. I was just so taken aback. And it is Columbus Day weekend so I expected Saturday prices for Sunday night from some venues but WM just gave that as the price. I emailed her back with a very nicely worded email asking if there had been some mistake or typo seeing as I've heard so many low quotes for them. I'm not giving up, just disheartened a little. Thanks for the advice! Very much appreciated!

Most these places will negotiate by throwing in some extras or if your on the cusp of prime season by giving an off season price. Im getting married memorial day weekend but I originally wanted a date in september that my church was unable to do so since I was quoted a lower price they gave it to me for that weekend.I agree with other people see the places in person and figure out what your willing to negotiate and what your not

Go in person. Negotiate and never take the first offer. You will def get better prices than your email offers.

Agreed. Check out The Woodlands. We're getting married there this October. So pretty and much less than what you were quoted.

This is what I'm saying! Since when do places charge almost $100 more per person for in-season?

The first venue that we went to was flower fields and they quoted us at $250pp for a Saturday night in September. We were pretty sure we were going to city hall after that!! Def negotiate and look around! We got the Venetian down almost $30!Welcome New Vendors
