Venue prices - SHOCK! - Long Island Weddings

I personally would not say WM is reasonable with pricing. We are paying close to that for a friday night in June (we booked jan 2013) BUT they will throw lots of stuff in & are willing to negotiate. for your price range i'd try Milleridge, Fox Hollow, Captain Bills

Re: Venue prices - SHOCK!

Wow!!! That was nowhere near the price we got for WM when we were looking at June of 2015 for our wedding.

You WILL find a place, don't worry! I agree with going in person to negotiate. In person is the way to go.

My advice to you is to look at other months. We could have saved quite a bit by bumping our wedding ahead a few weeks to November.

Are you completely set on your date? Ask for Friday quotes as well and see if the price will go down if you change the weekend (could be because of Columbus Day- most people are off that Monday).. October is a BIG wedding month so maybe get a quote for first weekend in November- you might get the perks of October weather here with a cheaper price tag.

Also check Jericho Terrace- they will give you a price and don't add 20% (you tip at end what you want) or Timber Point CC (the most reasonable location I found while looking) !

Re: Venue prices - SHOCK!

I got married at WM in November of 2012 and paid under $66 p/p with tax and grat for a Sunday night wedding. We negotiated a lot. We got an extra pasta course, dessert platters on every table, chocolate fountain, passed martinis.

I think you should go in person to places. When I was shopping around no one gave me good pricing on the phone.

Yeah I agree with this- WM quoted be under 100 for a sunday during high season before tax and service... you can definitely get that price down

Thanks ladies! This all makes me feel so much better. We got a lot of e-mail replies from other venues today that were much more promising including Swan Club, Mansion at West Sayville, and Land's End (if we can negotiate down a smidge). Jericho Terrace is one I'm really excited about and one of the two I'm still waiting for replies from, of course lol.

I think you will love the Jericho Terrace. They give you a lot of food. Definitely negotiate some extras. I am sorry you have sticker shock. Unfortunately, you will find that with a lot of things but remember everything is negotiable & always price check & compare apples to apples! Any questions, FM me i'd be happy to help.

The bright side is you have time to save :)

Venue prices - SHOCK! - Long Island Weddings

Chateau La Mer was the most reasonable venue we looked at but unfortunately I did not like the indoor ceremony space (its downstairs and has a basement feel) and it’ll be too cold for us to get married outside. But For 2015 we were quoted the following prices (inc. taxes)

Chateau La Mer Friday Rates Saturday Rates
March $84 $98
April $98 109
September $130 $152
October $106 $141
November $98 $114
Also, if you use one of their recommended vendors- there is NC for their dinner – which can save some money!
Good luck!

I would recommend looking into a day time wedding. FH and I are doing a Saturday daytime wedding in August and we got a much better price than a Saturday evening.

Watermill was actually going to give us a huge discount if we did it the last weekend in October because they said it was the end of the season. Don't know if that's at all what you're looking for but they were very willing to negotiate the later in the fall we went.

Re: Venue prices - SHOCK!

I am literally in shock right now! I started emailing venues yesterday and emailed about 20 and was pleasantly surprised that a lot responded right away. A lot of the quotes I was expecting but some... Westbury Manor quoted me $160pp + tax for a SUNDAY night in October 2016. WHAT?!?! I've done a lot of research and stalking on here and have heard that WM is beyond reasonable with their pricing. I'm so disheartened.

Basically we're looking to spend no more than $120pp after the ++. The only other place that gave us close to this definitely was Larkfield at $105pp++. HELP ME! I want to cry :'(

I was quoted $122pp + tax for a Saturday night in Nov 2015 for Westbury Manor. Usually Saturday nights are the most expensive.

If your heart is really set on an evening wedding,or a certain time of year, I would definitely look into the Lessing's Country Clubs. If you go on their website they have their rates listed and have great rates for on and off season.

Re: Venue prices - SHOCK!

Thanks everyone! I'm waiting to hear back from many of the places you've mentioned. The truth is my dream venue was thatched cottage and I'm devastated that we can't take the chance of booking them. I've heard milleridge cottage is a similar feel so we are making an appointment to meet with them. I was just so taken aback. And it is Columbus Day weekend so I expected Saturday prices for Sunday night from some venues but WM just gave that as the price. I emailed her back with a very nicely worded email asking if there had been some mistake or typo seeing as I've heard so many low quotes for them. I'm not giving up, just disheartened a little. Thanks for the advice! Very much appreciated!

Also. The prices you are seeing by other brides now won't be the same in 2016. The prices go up every year.
