venue quotes that won't hurt my heart

Hey everybody!

So we got engaged on Christmas and I've been obsessively searching every forum and website I could find since then... But if anyone could help me out I would REALLY appreciate it. We're looking for a Friday night in October for 134 guests... But the thing is we're doing it on our own so we need something less then 15k with as much included as possible. I got a quote from Flowerfield and it was about 5k more then we could afford...

I'm open to barns and farms and gardens. I'm open to DIY as much as possible. I was even tempted to make my own cake. Anything you guys can think of would be soooooo very much appreciated. And if you want my Flowerfield info I can gladly share it!

venue quotes that won't hurt my heart

You have FM with my venue quotes. Also, check out East Wind, the Lessings venues, mediterranean manor, the sterling, and miller place inn for all-inclusive options. The way I got quotes was by e-mailing. Some will give them to you and some want you to come in. Also, altering the time of year will save you money. September and October are two of the more expensive months to get married. We saved $5pp by changing to August (or November). Barns, farms and gardens will end up costing you more in the long run because you have to bring in all your own vendors usually including tables, chairs, tablecloths, forks, food, cups, you name it.

Re: venue quotes that won't hurt my heart

Hi,

I am new to this website and beginning my search for a wedding venue! I'm not even sure how to start a post on here LOL the venue search is a bit overwhelming being that Long Island gas so many to choose from! I've gone to the Watermill and Eastwind. I contacted a few other places and received price quotes that seemed ridiculous! My fiancé and I are looking to get married August 2017 and with a guest list about 130. I was interested in the Riviera or Giorgios. Does anyone have price quotes/capacity for either? Any recommendations for either of those two or any other places? We would like to stick to about $110 pp including tax and added fees.

Thank you so much!
Nicole

Nicole - if you're interested in Nassau County, Chateau Briand is $88.63 (includes tax) on Thursday nights at any time of the year (doesn't include tip). Ceremony/hospitality is $1107. Because of that my FH and I are going to increase our guest list from 125 to 150. Also, their quotes for January through the first week in April for Friday and Sunday fall under $110 pp.

Re: venue quotes that won't hurt my heart

Hey there!

I too got engaged on Christmas morning! I read your post and you sound just like me. I'm not willing to spend over 15k either but I have a guest list of 175. I know that DIY can often lead to pricier weddings but I'm determined to find a place in budget! I absolutely love the Bates House and the Setauket Neighborhood House but my guest list is too big for it so I plan on doing my engagement party there as I won't be inviting everyone. The cost for The Bates House went up from 1,000 to 3,500. You receive the property for the entire weekend to set up and what not. (You can't sleep there) The Setauket Neighborhood House is $700 for the room to rent, I'm not sure if its different for weddings. Either way both houses offer an amazing location. I love to be surrounded by nature and if you do too then I highly suggest checking it out.

Now, if you haven't found a caterer, I also suggest checking out Pat's supermarket in East Islip, they just opened up this year and they have an awesome 'Deluxe Hot Smorgasbord' catering option for only $29.95! Now this does not include 'real' silverware, only plastic. Either way though, you should definitely check them out.

If you really want to save money; I don't know what kind of feel you're looking for, I found a new pizzeria restaurant called Luigis in Lindenhurst that caters for ONLY ... 6.99 PP! (tax not included) But honestly could you imagine the savings!

Please let me know if you find anything, I'm so open to all options as I am also paying for the wedding on my own (and school loans). Wish you the best of luck!

I wish there was a way to save on the rentals, from the tables, chairs, plates, forks etc.
