We have been looking at and touring possible venues for our July 2013 wedding and hoping to find something that matches the following criteria. We keep striking out! Anyone know of a LI venue that...
-guarantee of 100 guests (we don't have to be the only wedding) -in Nassau or Western/Central Suffolk County -can hold the ceremony on-site -has an option for an outdoor cocktail hour -has outside grounds for photographs -has an elevator and is truly handicap-accessible -is in the range of $65 - $90++ PPP
We have already been to Watermill (minimum guest guarantee too high), Westbury Manor (no elevator), Thatched Cottage (same, no elevator), Fox Hollow (no outside cocktail), Harbor Club (price too high), The Metropolitan (again, no elevator). Crest Hollow is out for complicated reasons. Heading to Villa Lombardi's and Flowerfield this weekend... anyone know of something else I can check out?

swan club you should check out and maybe even chateau briand. I went to body english and it was outdoors and amazing, I bet they use that area for cocktail hour. thatched cottage has no elevator? why do these places have no elevators? what do people do with the handicap people? carry them all up the stairs? Villa you should be fine I think everything is on the first floor. woodbury country club you should check out also pretty sure they have an elevator. north ritz club is nice too but if it rains you have to have the ceremony in that basement which really looks like a basement. jericho terrace has some outdoor spots but not really.

The Thatched Cottage doesn't have an elevator, but they do take anyone in a wheel chair around and into the back. There's a path that goes around, and it's not like it's dirty or a hassle for the person in the wheel chair. They can be outside for cocktail hour or go inside. It's a little inconvenient, but it's not the worst thing. I have a guest in a wheel chair and I know it will be fine for her. IMO If you really liked it, you may want to keep it on your list.

Jericho Terrace - they have a small outdoor area for pictures but if you really love the place, you could always take pictures elsewhere

Smithtown Landing country club, everything is one floor or Windows on the Lake in Ronkonkoma or Beachclub Estate in Ronkonkoma. Both Windows and Beachclub are owned by the same company the Beachclub just hold less people and is on the other side of the lake. and both have an indoor/outdoor cocktail hr. Good luck!

U may want to check Swan Club. Def fits your check list above. Only thing if you want to stay within that budget you will probably have to go with a Friday or Sunday wedding or maybe a early Sat wedding. I know when I was looking last summer for my Oct wedding (which is a peak month just like July) a Sat night it was $100+. I didn't check Sat during the day. For a Sun night $70.

Thank you everyone for the suggestions! Will definitely check out Jericho Terrace and the Ronkonkoma options. I think I'll call Woodbury CC too.
We had actually already ruled out Swan Club because we've been there for two weddings recently and just weren't impressed. :/
I cannot believe how many venues do not have elevators! Every place says they will carry guests up the stairs, but I really don't think my elderly and handicapped guests will like that. One place told me that anyone who can't get up the stairs 'just stays in the downstairs area.' Couldn't get out of there fast enough.

What about timberpoint country club. I know they have an elevator, have a ceremony and outside cocktail site. I have a min of 80, what day of the week are you looking for? I loved it there, obviously!

That's absolutely ridiculous! I would use word-of-mouth and have that place lose business!

How about Larkfield Manor in East Northport? Prices are great, they can do your ceremoney inside or outside, and have a combo indoor/outdoor cocktail hour. The venue sits on one main floor, so there is no need for an elevator. I am booked here and they have been fantastic so far! Good Luck!

Re: Venue search... help!
Larkfield Manor was one of our first stops, and our biggest disappointment. I was crushed; I really wanted to get married there, but it turns out they are renovating from Nov 2012 - June 2013 and won't be able to accommodate our wedding (read: we are too small) until maybe the fall of 2013. They'll have the larger room up and running, but they can't promise that the smaller room will be ready.
Originally, I didn't want to consider country clubs because I'm not so crazy about photographs on/near a golf course, but I'm starting to think I may have to reconsider this.
We visited Villa Lombardi's yesterday, and it definitely met all of our criteria as well. (Ramps alongside stairs! I was so happy to see that.) We weren't able to see the dining room due to an event taking place, so we'll have to go back. And, oddly enough, the rep kept pushing us to look at Lombardi's on the Bay (again, read: we are a bit too small for VL).
I'm starting to get offended at the treatment I'm getting because of our small wedding.

Some of these venues can be frustrating. But do go check out Lombardi's On The Bay. It is beautiful and sounds like a perfect venue for the size wedding you are having. We would have gone with Lombardi's On The Bay but our wedding was too big for that place. I was wishing they had a bigger ballroom. Good luck!

Re: Venue search... help!
Def try the swan club we booked there, we originally intended to have a guarantee of 75 people for the Contessa room. We are way above that but when we started looking we intended to have a small wedding.
The swan also has so many doff packages to chose from.

Fox Hollow said they couldn't do an outdoor CH? I know you can't do it for the Somerley Room, but I thought one of the other rooms you could have the CH outside.
