Another venue post girls :) what was the most important thing you were looking for when you were looking for your venue? Hardwood floors, amazing food, size?

one wedding at a time, wooden floors and a unique non-cooker cutter feel. I wanted a mansion outside look with a boat house inside look, pretty much exactly what The Riviera is lol.

the food was really important to us. We didn't want people to walk away thinking 'meh' ya know? We wanted to make sure we booked a place that had amazing food that people would remember. The Estate at East Wind has a one wedding a time feel since it's a separate building, and another random thing that sold us on it was the amount of seating for the cocktail hour room. We always hated going to weddings where there was no where to sit with your food, in the estate there is plenty of seating so no one will have to worry about that. And we LOVED the size of the dance floor!

One wedding at a time...also, I loved the layout of the ballroom at Floral Terrace. It was just very different from all the other place I had seen!

Agree 100% on all of the above. We also looked for a lot of cocktail area seating, a huge dance floor and HIGH ceilings! My FH didnt like rooms where the ceilings were low he felts they were smaller (I know they werent) but the estate ceilings are so high it really makes the room feel HUGE. I also went in wanting one wedding at a time and wouldnt even look at East Wind but I started expanding my horizon and found the Estate was completely isolated and fell in love.

Look was important, but to be honest PRICE was the single most important element when we were looking. Luckily we found in our budget a place we love the look, food, style, size of and it's one wedding at a time!

Food and uniqueness

Food and the ability to have a small, intimate wedding on a Saturday night. Most venues wanted a minimum of 100, but the one I chose let us book with a 60 person minimum.

We were looking for one wedding at a time, but wound up going with a place that can have up to 4 weddings at a time!! I think a lot of it is just about the pure feeling you get when you go to the venue. Our venue was actually a place we weren't going to visit, but just did to appease my mom. We wound up falling in love!!

Most important was the feeling we go when we were there. We wanted to get married on the beach. The first place we went to we weren't blown away by. When we went to our venue, we just had this feeing!!

I looked at Crest Hollow too! My mom was obsessed and they seriously had the best ice tea I ever had! In the end I ultimately wanted to wind up out east because we just love it out there :)

I only looked at places that I know had good food and great reviews. Upon visiting places, one wedding at a time was important and I couldn't handle ugly printed carpets and chair cushions lol...one place I went to the cocktail hour room carpets were so stained I was shocked they would even show people. Also i wanted a room with windows. It all sounds silly but eventually I just knew when I found the right venue. The place I always thought I was going to get married at was totally out of the budget so I didn't think I would find a place at all but my mom said just go look at everything and I'm glad I did.
