Another venue post girls :) what was the most important thing you were looking for when you were looking for your venue? Hardwood floors, amazing food, size?

one wedding at a time. and not cookie cutter. something classy and not a catering hall feel.
Totally agree with this. We wanted non traditional catering hall feel with amazing food. Our location was our first choice.

i had never heard of your venue - just googled it. wow - what a beautiful place!! i'd love to see some photos of weddings there!
One wedding at a time. *That feeling*. Food. Cost. I wasn't sure really what I exactly wanted but I knew once I had seen it... I would know that was it. I also wanted somewhere that was not a typical wedding place.

Venue search: the most important....
Admittedly, I was a little insane with my desires for a venue: One wedding at a time, not on a major road, big outdoor space for ceremony, the outdoor space for the ceremony couldn't be off of the parking lot, enough room in the cocktail hour for everyone to have a seat, big windows in the reception area, high ceilings, centered dance floor, oversized dance floor, and round tables. Yup, I think that's about it! LOL

Venue search: the most important....
Food was the single most important thing to us. The other thing was a venue that felt like 'us', which was something on the water, but not beachy. We found the perfect place, so we're both happy :)

The feeling you get when u pull in and go in. Also the grounds. What is offered in the package and price
Food was very important, that feeling of 'wow' and loving the grounds, and of course one wedding at a time!!

Venue search: the most important....
Someone told me this a while ago- All venues are either in the Gaudy or Garden category.
Gaudy: elaborate castle-like design with shiny corners and majestic columns. (or whatever fits your view)
Garden: more floral with vines spreading the walls or outside. An elaborate Veggie Station with vegetable carvings (vs gaudy Ice sculpture Carvings- given, can be in both).
These are terrible descriptions. They were meant to both sound good in their own ways, but I may have spun it wrong. Anywhoo, it's kind of like Sandcastle VS East Wind or something.

Venue search: the most important....
What I looked for (preferably, can't have it all):
1. Spacious (I have a large wedding). 2. One wedding at a time. 3. Water-front (fail). 4. Food is pretty guaranteed to be good at most places now-a-days. What I looked for was AMOUNT of food, # stations, Variety of food, main course options, etc... 5. Ambiance: FW wanted Gaudy. I wanted spacious open, high ceilings a plus, well-lit, lots of ambient light preferable. 6. Building: beautiful artful structures, including Columns, wall work, border trimming, floor material wood/stone/tile preferable (carpet must be modern, not funky old). 7. OH, oddly realized after going to a few Venues, my only actual repeat question was- How many Bars will there be, and how many Bartenders at each?! Top shelf is standard now anyways.
Andddd we found allll that and much more at LARKFIELD. Enjoy your blessed year ladies!
