Tonight I went and saw Bridgeview Yacht Club! The view is so pretty. The main room is beautiful with all the chandeliers, draping and floor to ceiling windows. It's even bigger in person than I thought. I really loved the bridal suite too!! Lots of space, big windows and gorgeous view of the water. I also loved that the pricing was the same no matter what month - it drives me crazy when venues jack up the price in September and it limits you, so annoyinggg!! Also loved that you get the entire place to yourself! It makes you feel special and not like a factory :)

I was comparing this with Larkfield. They're so different. Larkfield is brand new which I LOVE but there's no view of anything which makes me sad :( Is it too 'in the middle of nowhere'-ish? I feel like all places on Long Island are like that though. The water view just gives it that something extra! Also I love that Larkfield has built in stereos and lighting! But the room at Bridgeview is more 'stunning' than the room at Larkfield (smaller ballroom). Also love that Larkfield is ALL hardwood floors.

To be fair, I haven't seen the inside of either. However, I work right near Larkfield Manor (it was fun watching the renovation happening!). I have to say, since I'm in that area so much between coffee runs and getting lunch, it really is smack in the middle of a commercial area. Between the locations of the two, my vote is definitely for Bridgeview.

Haven't heard anything about Larkfield, but I am a BYC bride and IN LOVE with my venue! They have been really great to work with... prices are reasonable, the view outdoors and the rooms indoors are exactly what we wanted and EVERY TIME I tell someone we're getting married there I ALWAYS get positive feedback. Plus, they really came back quickly after the hurricane... My vote is for them, but then again I might have a biased opinion hahaha

I'm a larkfield bride and I have to be honest I'm happy I went with larkfield. I totally understand your point about the water view we considered here and also the riveria in massapequa. I will say the food is amazing everyone raves about the food at larfield not the traditial 'wedding' quality most of us are used to... Also there service is amazing and the patio is really something everyone loves. Just my opinion as a larkfield bride :)

I'm biased but Bridgeview really is breathtaking! Kathy has been so helpful and really made me and my FH feel like we made the best decision we could. :) Good luck with your decision!

I went and saw both places in the past two weeks and I felt like you did about Larkfield. It is beautiful and brand new but no windows and in the middle of nowhere. Plus they do 2 weddings at a time and that is something I am not interested in. I just booked Bridgeview on Monday, as soon as I walked in I was in love, the chandeliers are beautiful and it was just so me and everything I wanted. Plus my FH and I live in Long Beach so it made sense. I have only heard amazing things about Bridgeview too. You have to go with your instincts.

I agree with emmac in teh end of the day its all about your gut feeling.. The feeling you get about a place.. For us our church was near Larkfield in West Babylon and also we realy wanted our pictures done at Vanderbuilt mansion in centerport!! go with your gut they are both such pretty places :) you will know what right for the both of you :)

I saw Larkfield during their construction. The plans looked awesome and the pre construction prices were amazing. I also liked that it was 'new' so most of my guests would probably never have been there before. The sound system and lighting is a plus too.... But when we walked into bridgeview, we were sold. I've never heard anything bad about it and I always hear the food is fantastic. Bridgeview brides always win on TLC's four weddings too, lol. Larkfield has more of a Tuscan feel and since we are getting married in the summer, we liked the nautical/water views better. Plus my fiancé said he felt Larkfield looked like a fancy Olive Garden. Both venues are great and you will have a fab wedding at either. I say go with your gut, or just keep looking. We looed at around 15 before finally booking.

Gambigoo and Emma - LOL both good responses. I (like every girl) am soooo indecisive! I want it to be perfect so I'm freaking out. I kind of wish the new LM cocktail hour room was how the smaller room looked because I thought the cocktail room was beautiful. It's definitely more 'tuscan' - I wanted Rustic shabby chic but it is proving IMPOSSIBLE to find! :(

My original theme was rustic shabby chic but I quickly found out that rustic venues are not very elegant. I ended up choosing the Royalton and I switched my theme to vintage shabby chic. Have you looked at the Old Field Club? If it was bigger I would have booked there. It has a Rustic feel to it and the view is amazing!

Are you having your wedding at night? I have to say I LOVE the view from bridge view and all the windows but if you're having it at night you can't see anything. If its a daytime wedding I vote bridgeview

the food at the BYC was amazing when i went there in March for a wedding. The cake was great too, and the room is so pretty at night. My only complaint was the ceremony, but it was indoors because it was March and I couldn't hear a thing. I heard the outdoor ceremonies are beautiful there though. And the price at the BYC is probably better than Larkfield since it's a brand new venue, so that would also be a plus for the BYC lol

Having grown up in E. Northport down the road from LM... I had to laugh about the 'middle of nowhere' comment. I understand what you mean though. Its like 'Oh okay a super busy road... theres the CVS ... and Starbucks... and the bank... and then oh wow... the beautiful tuscan villa ... and then theres the 7-11... and pizza place.' Its gorgeous... and always was... but now it just looks REALLY out of place.

A girl I know just got married at BYC and her pics on FB are gorgeous!!
