I am planning to start scheduling appointments with my fiancee to see halls this weekend. I am looking for a venue that holds one wedding at a time and is something different, a few friends have recommended the Carlton on the Park, Cresent Beach Club and the Harrison House. Please let me know if there is any suggestions you can give me as well as anything I should watch out for. I have heard some horror stories when it comes to banquet managers.

Re: venues
I have heard that the one wedding venues are quite expensive. My fiancee and I have agreed that we do not want to be over $150 per person. Based on what I have heard I might have to give up my Sat Evening Actually I am open to give up the one wedding places for the Sat Eve in a place that holds more if that would meet my budget. I'm so confused

Re: venues
North Ritz Club does one wedding at a time. I am slightly biased , but it is really nice! Although I did have the same problem with price (and a min guarentee) so I am having my wedding on a Friday evening. But I love the idea of one wedding at a time so I don't mind the Friday night.

Re: venues
Have you looked into Atlantis Aquarium in Riverhead? It's different, it's in an Aquarium and they use outside caterers, but the place is great with all the fish displays...definitley different, but they only have one wedding at a time.

Re: venues
Miller Place Inn does only one wedding per day....very elegant. FH and I visited, but it was too expensive for us. (We have a tiny budget)

Re: venues
Check our Flowerfield in St. James. There's only on wedding at a time, the grounds are beautiful, the food is outstanding and the cocktail hour is held in a huge atrium. Here's there site with plenty of pics: http://www.flowerfield.com/photos.html

Re: venues
I was quoted $175 per person at Harrison House in December, 2006, a Saturday. If I couldn't guarantee 200 people I would be bumped to an afternoon wedding. Nevermind then.

Re: venues
I have heard the Atlantica is beautiful and so are vineyard weddings. What time of year do you want? Also I have seen Lands End and loved it but I wanted a smaller guarantee. If you are doing a fall or early winter... I went to a wedding at Tribeca Rooftop in Manhattan and it was beautiful and VERY different. that is all I could think of I am getting married at Lombardis on the Sound but you seem like you want something a little more different. Good luck!!!

Re: venues
I went to all of the 3 places, Harrison, Crescent and Carltun.
I'm pretty sure they are all over $150 for a Sat evening, but it depends on your minimum. The higher amt you guarantee... the lower the price. How many ppl are you thinking about having?

I don't know how far east you want to go, but Giorgio's is one wedding at a time and around 150. It is gorgeous!! (I am biased though).

Re: venues
The Snuff Mill at the NYC Botanical Gardens in the Bronx is a wonderful location. They do one wedding at a time, but it only holds around 120 ppl.

Re: venues
Milleridge Cottage holds one wedding at a time. If memory serves, depending on time of year, you can do a Sat evening for under $150. Good luck!

Re: venues
I'm biased, but I loved the Crescent. They were so professional and easy to work with. The food and service were phenomenal. I think one of the great things about the Crescent is the view of the water and the fact that it's on the beach. We had our ceremony there on the beach. As long as the weather is good, the cocktail hour is inside and outside so everyone was able to enjoy the fresh air and the view. We were married on a Sunday during the day. I'm not sure whether guests will be able to take as much advantage of the beach setting and water view at night. Good luck with your choice.

We looked at Milleridge, both Cottage and Carriage House. One wedding at a time - because they are in separate areas. The Carriage House was very reasonable for a Sat. night and minimum was 75 people. Giorgio's is one wedding at a time too -- that's where I booked. Once I saw it, I knew it was the place. I ended up giving up Sat. night and choosing a Sunday wedding to keep it within our budget. We're having the ceremony there at 11:30 a.m. and the whole place is gorgeous.
