Re: venues

i second atlantis marine world. its a unique venue for a wedding. they are having an showcase/coctail party tomorrow night (wed, nov 9). i am biased though!

Have you looked into Atlantis Aquarium in Riverhead? It's different, it's in an Aquarium and they use outside caterers, but the place is great with all the fish displays...definitley different, but they only have one wedding at a time.

from what i understand, they have in house catering only---everything is prepared by their chefs on their premises.

Re: venues

I booked the Crescent Beach Club and I did it off season so it would be a little less expensive. Off season rates for a day wedding there are $110 guaranteeing 125 guests and I know its $95 to guarantee 200 guests.. Good luck!

It's nothing special but the Stewart Manor Country Club is very cute. Also, Floral Terrace. I hear great things about both and attended a wedding at SMCC (wasn't paying attention to details at that time but I had a blast!)

The Brooklyn Botanic Gardens are amazing and are below 150 WITHOUT tax and tip. Also, Chelsea Piers or Pier Sixty (I forget which) is 110 (w/o tax/tip) and very unique.

My MOH gave me a catalogue that lists venues, prices, number of affairs, etc and it was helpful...I'd list the things you are looking for and rank them...then go an see places in person!

Also, sometimes you should see a place and negotiate prices in person- depending on your time of year you may be able to do better than their standard prices- good luck!!

The West Sayville Country Club is different and it's under $150 pp for a Saturday night. I wouldn't put more them 160 people in there though.

Re: venues

Now that I've calmed down. You could do Villa Lombardi's for under $150 before tax & gratuity and Chateau La Mer. You could do both for under $150 after tax & gratuity if you do it on a Friday.

me too! I'm doing a day summer wedding - and it less than $150. I'm not sure of their night prices (I think they are much higher).

Also if you are williing to travel, I've heard great things about Gurney's in Montauk.

Re: venues

of course I'm all for the place but check out the Bridgeview Yacht Club. They only do one wedding, their prices are below the Cresent, the food is amazing and the service is unbelievable.
If you check their website know that they have not updated it in a while and it looks much better in person that those pictures
FM me if you want more info

Re: venues

My wedding was at the Harrison House and it was picture perfect. If you do make an appointment to see it, ask to meet with Carmella- she's wonderful!

Re: venues

Check out the North Ritz, it's one wedding, the food is outstanding, they have a pond, the staff is wonderful, one waiter per table, there is a beautiful bar in the main room (dh and I were bartenders, that was one of the selling points for us).

Good Luck,
Kelly

FYI, The Cresent was nice, but they were double the price of just about every where else we looked (starting at 190 a head)
