Re: Venues
Did you two love birds set a date yet? And also, how many guests will you be inviting? And if you don't mind sharing a guesstimate budget... so $60-80pp or 100-120 or more? It'll help narrow it down for you :)

Re: Venues
Also depends on what type of venue you want...fancier....low key....great inside....vineyard....great outside....

I can account for Chateau la mer.
The food is very very good. I've been there for 2 weddings. Its also very pretty.

Re: Venues
Aiming for the end of July time frame. Depending on venue availabilty this may change..
Guest list - prob a min of 125.
Budget - would like to keep it under $100pp (We just bought a house LY so i'm little concerned and don't want to go crazy) So if I can find the perfect venue for less that's be great..
Venue location - nothing east of Holbrook. ALOT of family and friends are queens, nassua or out of state.
Venue style - we both like pictures so I'd love a place that offers a few 'spots' for a photo opt. And a good size / large dance floor. I can picture our entire families on the dance floor majority of the night.
Also, we're siding towards not getting married in a church. I like the idea of getting married at the venue or possibilty outside.
Nothing OMG grand just warm and welcoming.

Re: Venues
I'm not sure of prices for that time of year but I would say Westbury Manor or Swan Club..both offer a lot of photo opportunties and on site ceremonies

Re: Venues
Well i can attest that westbury manor has lots of photo ops. The area for the ceremony is gorgeous and you can get it at less than 100pp. My 1st wedding was there.

Re: Venues
Swan club definitely has a lot of photo ops. and the pricing is very decent. I think its $75-100 depending on the time of day and day itself. Definitely check it out.

Re: Venues
I have been to the swan club quite a few times. Both my sister and I had our sweet 16's there as well as my parents have had many charity events there. Also I was just there for a retirement party last month. The food was delicious and it really is beautiful. I would have thought there for my wedding but I wanted to try some place different since I have had so many events there, but it really is a great place!

Re: Venues
Swan Club: The gardens are beautiful, the cocktail hour room is gorgeous, the food is great. Depending on what room you have it may be a smidge lacking. Also, the picture makes the swan look a LOT bigger than it really is...the thing is maybe 5 feet in diameter, unlike the 25 foot diameter that the pic makes it out to be Definitely worth checking out (was one of our final 3 choices).
Westbury Manor: Gardens are nice, the rooms inside are lovely, food is good. Again, depending on what room you get (and your crowd) you will end up with some logistical issues. The room we would have had included the library, but the room itself had no bar inside. And given our group, the room would be 3/4 empty because everyone would be across the hall at the bar rather than dancing and in the room where the party is (again, one of our final 3 choices).
Hope that helps.

Re: Venues
I would add the Sans Souci - great areas to take pictures, in your price range, on the water so it has great views, perfect for the amount of people you are looking to have.
