Venues

Hello Brides...

I'm new to this so I really don't know how this works but I'll give it a try.

I recently got engaged and am in full load of wedding planning. Haven't set my heart on a venue so I need some help. Today I went to Douglaston Manor and let me just say that the place is truly amazing. The staff is very welcoming and the price was within budget. I wanted to also see The Metropolitan. Does anyone know what the prices are for The Metropolitan?
Thought this would be fun, but so far, I'm not enjoying it..

There are millions of places on li to check out!!!!!!!!!!!!! Try and have fun with it or you will make urself nuts!!!!!!! Well, just keep in mind that your date is to ur advantage, as it is a less expensive month to book and prices should be reflective of that!!!! DM was actually the first venue I looked at also. If you would like, I am sure the girls can give you a fab list of places to look at if you gave us a price range and the type of venue you want, do you want a modern space? Do you want it vintage looking? Does it have to be one wedding at a time? Good luck on ur journey!!!!!!!

Re: Venues

Thanks for your comments.

My FI and I have been living together for 5yrs and have 2 beautiful girls (3yr and 8month baby) together. I have a 15yr from a prior relationship. He is the best and I really can't complain. He helps me out with the girls and is a hands on dad. Because of my busy day to day living, I have been finding it really hard to plan for this wedding. Originally I just wanted to rent a hall and bring everything in just so save some money. But now that I'm actually planning it, I do want something nicer. How many times do you actually get to get marry? Why not splurge a little...
My budget for the venue is around $14-15k. I have about 170 guest in which all of them are very special to us. We are paying for the entire wedding ourselve. My theme color is purple. My sister is my MOH, her husband is our best man. My olderst daughter, FSIL and bestfriend will be my BM. My two little girls will be my flowergirls. I'm looking for something intimate, yet picture worthy. Loved Douglaston Manor but I'm a little concern with the layout. Since its shape as a T, I'm worries that my guests that will be seated towards the back will feel out of place and not part of my wedding.
Any help will be greatly appreciated. I also need to get started on my Save the dates cards which I wanted to be in a magnet style.
As you can read my time for wedding searching is very limited. My girls are yet too small to understand that mami is getting marry.
