Venues and Prices

Venues and Prices

I got recently engaged! We started our search for a Venue and OMG I have seen it all!! Below I am listing all the places my Fiancé and I have been so far with the prices I was given!
East Wind: up 100 guests I was given the price of $10.000 Plus 20% gratuity and tax. The Cottage I did not like, too outdated for me, so we looked at the main room upstairs with the Veranda which was $500 more but worth it!! .. The only thing I did not like was the cocktail hour was held in the hallway by the staircase not in an actual room… and the main lobby was a bit dated
Flowerfield: was quoted for a Sunday night $110/pp Saturday $195/pp and Thursday ( strange day) on Memorial day weekend was $95/pp .. this isn’t an inclusive hall so we decided it was not worth the money. But beautiful place!!! Barry was very nice. Another thing I didn’t like was, they wouldn’t tell us their preferred Vendors until I booked with them ( I would like to see a head of time)
Smithtown Landing: OK, I don’t know what to say… Lessing’s Catering Hall all Inclusive was $10.00 for all (their package is listed on their website) it looked NOTHING like the pictures, it was more like a motel 6.. the person I spoke to was the chef/manager/sales person/M D .. ummm for that money you can book a much much better place!!!
Three Village Inn: very nice people.. Again a Lessing’s owned Venue. Same package. If you are looking for a Rustic themed small hall this is a nice place. Just looked a tad old for me and not enough room for a DJ and a band ( Greek/jewish wedding)
Bourne Mansion: Another Lessing’s location in Huntington. The sales person didn’t bother to show up, here we are walking in the snow in the back of the building and all the way in the front and nope place was closed!! We left and he called us about 20 min later to see if we were coming.. Didn’t even go inside but if you cant show me the place im not comfortable having my wedding there!
StoneBridge: Another Lessing’s place.. They are still doing renovations but this place looks AMAZING!!! Huge bridal suite with a kind size bed (set up as an apartment) marble bathroom with a shower, the groom’s suite is huge as well!! The place looks awesome!! But no package. Prices start from $110/pp so this is still a possibility for us but we have to look for all the Vendors how much it is going to be.
The Sterling: at first we walked in I said: OMG this is it!! ..Packages are $10kfor buffet and 12K for sit down ( details on their website ) Diane was a little shady ( be aware if you are dealing with her) she greeted us at first not telling us her name and put us in room to meet with Diane ( ???LOL) and some very nice young girl came in (forgot her name ) went through the packages which are beyond AWESOME!!! And then we saw Diane leaving.. ( if you have to go just say it, don’t pretend you are someone else , how rude ) Then we went on with our tour… yeah that’s when we saw we the package was an amazing deal, Outdated scratched props and furniture
Rooms looked very 80’s and old.. Bridal suite; my dress wouldn’t be able to fit in there. We were SO disappointed..
The Inn, New Hyde Park: The unprofessionalism and rudeness of the staff kind of killed for us. The place was OK but the sales person Michelle was chewing gum not really interested in our questions.. I made an appointed to her convenient time, but we couldn’t see the outside, the ball room or the bridal suite because they had a wedding going on.. Then why told us to come?? We got $150/pp with only the food included. If I wanted to use THEIR lights in the ballroom which were some purple or blue accent light it was going to be $350 more.. (Really ??) She didn’t even follow up with me thru email, like every other place..

The Miller place Inn: the package is $9k (details on their page) and it would cost about 15 by the time you customize it and get what you want limos aren’t included… very nice people easy to work with, family owned. I loved it!!! My fiancé was not thrilled with it. He said it did look old and needed A LOT of updating.. it was an Inn feel to it if that makes sense… Also they allow you to customize and swap out things on the package for other things.. I think that is great !!!
Sand Castle: we called to get an apox pricing, our wedding about 130-150 when we told the sales that he responded “your party is too small for us to deal with” snobby and rude plus the prices were from $150/pp to 210/pp YIKES!!!
Coral House: I got a price of $95-110/pp we will go to look at end of the month, I will give a review on that one.
Chateau La Mer: Ok, I saw the pictures beautiful place but I got prices $210and up non inclusive, bit too much!
Ariana Waterfall: they have great packages I think 12k the most expensive one, I am going there next soon I will review the rooms!
This all I have so far!! Any places I should visit???

Venues and Prices - Long Island Weddings

Skip Ariana Waterfall and Coral House updated nicely. Try Sands in Long Beach area too.

Re: Venues and Prices

I chose The Sterling actually. I haven't had any problems with Diane in the multiple times I've met with her. However, you were not the first person to say something negative about her. Crossing my fingers!! I do suggest to skip Arianna as well. This place is REALLY small. Yes the upside is that your wedding is the only wedding there however the cocktail room is tiny. The bridal suite is larger than the Sterling's. Also you are charged $400 extra to turn over the reception room if you are having your wedding there.
