venues for budget wedding?

I'm not a bride to be but my sister is and i'm her MOH. She and her fiance really can't afford to have a big wedding. I'm trying help them get some ideas on how they can still have a nice wedding on a tight budget. Any suggestions for a venue first and foremost?

in suffolk there's brentwood country club, sunset harbor, and I am having my wedding at THe Meadow Club in Port Jeff and it is awesomely affordable there and really nice. FM me if you want any prices on these places.

Stewart Manor is def affordable. Swan Club seemed to have pretty good prices. When I looked for May 2010 I was quoted $85 for a sat night. Also, Douglaston Manor has all inclusive packages.

I forgot about Coral House

What is her price per person budget? This could help a lot of other brides when they give you suggestions.

they're on a tighter budget than this...think more like VFW hall.

ETA: They pretty much have no money , so they don't really have an idea of what they want to pay pp.

If they plan on having a small wedding, they could do it at a restaurant and ask for a set menu.

I know you mentioned halls but did they ever consider going destination? I just spoke with a friend over the weekend and she says it's costing her $3,000 for everything doing it this way.

ooooo what about something like the port jefferson village community center. It is actually really nice when decorated for a wedding and it overlooks the water. it wasn't that much to rent the space i remember and you can have their favorite restaurant cater...i say go italian because that is cheap to make and tastes AWESOME! google the port jefferson village center if you want to see what it looks like!

there's a beautiful place called the Amity Harbor Beach & Civic Assocation. It's like a VFW but it's decorated beachy. There's a deck outside that overlooks the water, there's a big lawn on the side, and a small beach down the block. It holds up to 100 people.

Also check out Mediterranean Manor, Sunset Harbour, The Sterling, and Ariana Waterfall.

Maybe Verdi's of Whitestone, Ariana waterfall, Mediterranean Manor. If you are willing to come out to Queens then Riccardo's by the bridge in Astoria.

Leonard's is around $80 per head so it's not really that budget friendly.

Ariana Waterfall, Manor East & Holiday inn In Plainview all offer package deals.

KoC in Seaford, Fox Hollow, Chateau Briand, Verdi's- you can get for $55-65 pp on an off season afternoon or sunday wedding

good luck!
