Venues that are pretty in the fall

Venues that are pretty in the fall

Hello!

I am in the very early stages of wedding planning with a 11/11/11 wedding date!

I'd love to know venues that people recommend for fall (well late fall!) weddings in LI. We are getting married in LI, even though we live in Bk. I'm so very overwhelmed and want to hear great things from people to inspire!

Thank you in advance!

I recommend the Harbor Club in Huntington (went to a wedding there in October and it was beautiful), East Wind (went to a wedding there in December and it was amazing), and of course Giorgio's (my RH of choice)!!! If you are looking for something in nassau then I liked Woodbury Country Club and Crest Hollow.

I agree - Crest Hollow is amazing in the fall. Swan Club would also probably be nice (they have a big gardens/grounds)

i must say the woodlands is gorgeous in the fall. They have 3 fireplaces in the mansion (not sure if they all work, but I know the one in the lobby def does) it creates such a warm, romantic atmosphere. I have pix in my album if u want to check it out.

i also heard that chateau la mer decorates really gorgeous for fall, but I haven't seen it in person

what are you looking for in a venue?

Westbury Manor & Swan club are really pretty in the fall.

If you told us how many people and about how much per person you want to spend that would help.

Congrats & Welcome

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome :)

So, we are guessing about 150 guests and price range... well I don't want to think of that right now ;)

I would love a rustic vibe - fireplaces definitely sound appealing. I plan to have lots of DIY touches and love the idea of fall colors... orange in particular!

Thanks for the help everyone, I'm going to hit google and start searching!

Im an 11/11/11 bride myself!! I had a hrd time picking places for this reason but we wound up really liking Villa Lombardis so we just went with it. I love the idea of a nice outside but you will be inside most of the time.

I second the Woodlands, I'm imagining it in fall and it has to be gorgeous. So cozy!!

Old Field Club and Giorgios are the first that come to mind. I'm having a Fall wedding and love Giorgios. Beautiful grounds and they have a fireplace in the foyer. One thing to consider...if you have an evening wedding...it will be dark early in Nov so the grounds wont matter much

Definitely check out Giorgios.

Also if you're looking for foliage, Flowerfield grounds are beautiful inside an out - with fireplaces, an indoor pond with fish, a bridge, and a ton of greenery inside that makes it look kind of tropical. Plus with all the trees outside, and it's very secluded in the fall it's amazing with all the colors.

Thanks everyone!

I know we'll mostly be inside, but I love the idea of pretty fall photos outside :)

I'm going to get to making some phone calls to view...

good point. daylight savings time begins on 11/6, so you're looking at sunset during the 4 o'clock hour on your wedding day. do you want to get married at the RH, or in a church?

Definitely the ceremony at the RH! Sunset is at 4:41 that day (I'm a dork!). My fiance and I will be fine to see one another before the ceremony for our pics.

Go with Westbury Manor, it is very rustic, has fireplaces, and the decoration of ceremony area comes with the ceremony price.

please! sunset time was the first thing i looked up when i picked my date lol- it's very important!

if you're ok with seeing him before the ceremony, that makes it soooo much easier. FH and i aren't, so we have to cram our pictures in a short period of time. oh well!

if you're into the vineyards, i would highly recommend my RH (vineyard caterers)- it's beautiful in wine country in the fall. there is a fireplace in the lobby there too in case it's chilly.
