Vera Wang BM's Dresses

Does anyone have any idea how much a Vera Wang bridesmaids dress costs. On the website under the pic it said $260USD are they really only $260.

I was expecting them to be alot more.

That sounds about right. I think my girls dresses were around $280. They really aren't that expensive when you think of it.

Maybe this is just my opinion, but I think that's a lot of money to ask people to spend on a dress they, more than likely, will not wear again. On top of the dress cost, there's also alterations, shoes, and day-of expenses. I just think it adds up quickly. I promised my friends to stay within the $150 range, even though they told me to pick whatever I want, and I managed to find their dresses for $129 online (they were $180 in the store) But JMO. Feel free to do whatever maeks you happy.

That is correct! My BP is wearing Vera Wang dresses and that's about what they paid for it (ranged from 240-320). The only thing about Vera Wang is they don't do any alterations . They will have to bring the dress elsewhere to get it altered.

IMO i don't think the dresses were expensive at all. The last 2 weddings i've been in I spent about that much and they weren't even Vera Wang.

It's a good place to check out

We're wearing Vera Wang for my friend's wedding and our dresses were only $160 (pleasant surprise) - They are however, simple black cocktail dresses - i'm sure a gown is about $100 more

The majority of her BM dresses are under 300. I think the prices are reasonable for what you are getting. VW definitely has the nicest line of BM dresses around and the VW Salon has every single dress there to see and has all the colors and fabrics. Also, they offered 10% off the listed prices.

yes i know people that have worn them before... they are reasonable even if you buy them at the vera wang store in the city... i have heard ADDRIENNES in Islip carries them also if you wanted to go try on.. i think i might go there
i figure since my dress is not vera wang.. i will have my brides maids but i have heard they run small...very small

My girls are wearing VW - there are pluses and minuses to getting it outside of the actual VW store -

Yes they DON'T do alterations but my girls have found people they are happy and reasonable priced to alter their gowns.

I will tell you I looked around at Adriannes (although they sold VW dresses I have to say I didn't see a single dress they had at the actual VW store - I think they are like Bloomies who carries a different sort of line) The wedding salon had a few nices ones - But the best selection was at VW maids store itself.

Size wise - someone mentioned they run small VERY small - that is not true my girls all got either their regular size or one size larger - but they run fairly close to real sizes.

As far as price - I think honestly they were rather reasonable - we looked at a LOT of bm dresses and my girls commented on the fact they were afraid to bend of move in some because they weren't confident in the quality of the workmanship - Pricewise many run about the same as Lazaro - which are beautiful as well.

One of the reasons my BM's wanted the VW dresses was that they felt that (at least with the one they picked) that it didn't look all that much like a BM dress - they all plan on wearing the dress again (to formal dinners and formal nights on cruises) so they felt that they would definitely get their moneys worth.

jill13bean: I did not order my dress from Vera Wang and they still offered me the 10%.

In my experience, the dresses run small -they orderd 3 sizes larger than I normally wear but who cares ? - as long as it fits and it looks great- the stupid number on the label doesn't matter. - And ANY Vera Wang dress will look beautiful - absolutely worth the money and most don't look like 'bridesmaid' dresses - eg: they can be worn again and again -

I found them to be pretty true to size. I recently ordered one for a friend's wedding and I measured to be the exact size I usually buy in a store. Also, out of my nine BMs they all felt they measured to be their usual size.

They were extremely nice at the VW salon, it was a really pleasant experience. I even try to get a discount, our sales consultant (Tiffany) just volunteered the 10% off. It could have been because I have nine bridesmaids and she saw a big sale in front of her. I actually didn't even order through them though because I wanted to order through the Wedding Salon of Manhasset, they gave me 15% off each dress because I ordered my dress there as well.
