Very annoying. Is this something new?

Everytime I send an email message, my Norton antivirus has to scan it first. Its annoying. Is this something new?

It's probably a setting that can be changed in Nortons. I am not sure how to do it though. But IMO I am all for anything that will prevent getting a virus on my computer or forwarding one to someone else by accident.
