Very Frustrated

FH and I had an appointment with a florist tonight. I was showing him pictures of flowers and centerpieces I like. He was very shocked and said I had high end taste and he needed to know my budget so he knows if it's even possible. I told him I didn't want to give it to him and he pretty much said he had to know it. So I told him the fairly generous flower budget because I decided at that point I wasn't going to use him anyway. I get so frustrated when people jump to conculsions that either 1. I can't afford something or 2. expect the world but expect to pay little. I walked out of there so freaking aggravated. And of course he came in with a number $500 over my budget.

I hope my meeting with the next florist is better. I LOVE flowers and consider this one of my most important purchases and I feel like sh!t over it right now.

OMG The nerve of that guy. If I was you I would have said thank you for your time and left. Try not to let that person discourage you and make you upset. I'm sure there is a florist who can give you the look your looking for.

I am so sorry. There is nothing worse that a rude vendor. They are a waste of valuable time.

If you don't mind fm me the place. I want to be sure I avoid. I have one place I like that I will probably stick with but I wanted to check one other place to be sure but don't want it to be that place.

I normally would have left but I was getting names of flowers to tell other florists. HAHAHA

Wow that was rude. Most vendors will take your ideas and budget into consideration, make suggestions to alter things appropriately to suit YOUR needs. Even after what he said, if he came in w/in your budget I would not have given him my business.

Then he pressured me for a number and I just said 'Honestly, I am telling each florist I go to exactly what I want, and whoever gives me the best price is the one I am going to go with.' I knew if i gave him a number that he would 'miraculously' come just slightly over bc thats what they always do.

Oh I know. But it really didn't matter because I knew I wasn't using him plus it just confirmed my opinion of him when he went over the budget.

that is nasty, i had the same thing wiht a photographer some of them are so rude....did u try designs by rose?? she does great work and will work with ur budget

I only tried the one place so far. I have an appointment with Bayview next week. I really liked the woman over the phone. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Hmmm...I won't mention any names, but I think I went to the same florist and they are a vendor on this site. The guy told me that the flowers I liked did not 'match' and they looked like funeral arrangements to him. He also asked about our budget and laughed when I told him it was $1,500. He said I could barely get anything for that price.

He was a real jerk to us and I was practically in tears when I left there. This is a high end florist and I have to say I hated their ideas and their prices were sky high for the very terrible ideas they presented to me. I ended up finding a mom and pop type store that had amazing ideas and was totally within my budget. Do not go to someone who treats you that way. Shame on them!!!!!!!!!!!!

I went to florist today also, to flower barn and i tald them that my budget is 1000 and he did work with me and i came out happy and i booked him....i got so many things and he was very nice to me ....
