Very important and personal questions..please respond.
I was wondering if anyone here ttc or has already or any mommies or basically anyone has had problems with their menstrual cycles. I used to be regular but for the past 2 years I have become extremely irregular. This past year has been the worst, getting my ... only once about every 3 months. I know, I know..go to the doctor, I am in the process of finding one right now but I wanted to know if anyone else had this problem.
My friend told me she did and that all they needed to do was put her on the pill to regulate her. Other friends have had cysts and the like which prevented them from ovulating.
Has anyone else had or have this problem? I was wondering what some symptoms are or maybe some other reasons for not getting my period. I am deathly afraid of doctors and although realize I must go, would like to hear some personal experiences from others as to what their problems were and how they were taken care of..I dont want to go in knowing nothing.
Thanks so much in advance ladies..I feel very lucky in knowing I am able to come here for help with anything.

FM Tammy and Jessica- both are OBs. But you NEED to go to the doctor. Every women's body is so different. This would be hard to diagnose without tests and being seen.

I have been irregular my whole life-- i went on the pill and I was regular --- then went off and did not get period for like two months. I have a histroy with cysts -- and was hospitalized for a large one-- so I know I dont always ovulate.... i got pregnant with aidan -- right after ( literally three days ) after going off the oill. LUCK -- the Dr,. said.... Now -- we have been trying -- and NO luck ... I am already two weeks late -- and NOT pregnant -- I took two tests. It is frustrating to be irregular -- but you should go see the Dr... it is usually not serious -- and perhaps the pill will help -- even just for a while.... Dr. said we just need to keep trying -- and possibly try ovulation predictor kits .... Good luck

Noreen, I am not a doctor but I have to say with everything that has been going on in your life lately it could be stress. I am regular but when I go through VERY stressful times of my life I become irregular for a couple of months until everything goes back to normal.
You should def see your doctor.

I had a similiar situation. I went on birth control to regulate my hormones and it was great to get it at the same time every month. I did go off BC right after my wedding (08/02) and it took us until this July to conceive. I didn't go to a Dr, because I knew that it was a combo of stress and hormones. We just tried to relax and let it happen if it was going to happen. After a couple of months, I learned to read my body signals even though I was irregular and by July I could just tell we got it right!! I think it also helped that we went back to Aruba and totally relaxed the whole week! It was great!!!!!
There are a lot of great resources now-a-days and I recommended reading up on it! Stress is definitely a *huge* factor!!!
Best wishes!

There are so many reasons for irregular periods. Stress is a big one but if it is more frequent, it is usually a hormonal problem. If you want to FM me, I could give you a better idea of the other possibilities. You should still make an appointment to see your doctor. I can only tell you in general what it COULD be, you need a work-up to know what the reason is in your particukar case.

I was put on bcp because I had very bad AF's. I would turn white as a ghost and be in a lot of pain. My cycles were very irregular & too often. I was told I had a hormonal imbalance and the bcp's would regulate me.
