Re: very personal question
Just wanted to wish you luck and let you know you have the support of all of us LI ladies. My best friend went through the exact same thing a few months before her wedding, which was two years ago. In the next few weeks, she will be giving birth to her first child. It's all very exciting and I know that everythign turned out well for her. Good Luck and keep us posted.

Re: very personal question
Sorry Jenn - I was hoping for the best. But at least it was caught early. Don't stress - it'll all be fine.

Re: very personal question
I want you to know that I work in the field and what you have is so common. Most women go on to be fine and do not ever develop cancer. The most important thing is that you follow-up with your doctor and have frequent pap smears. It must be very early if your doctor only wants to do the freezing now. If you do need to have a leep in the future, it is not the end of the world. Most women who have the procedure go on to have normal successful pregnancies. The part of the cervix that is removed should be so small that it doesn't make a difference. I hope you don't ever need to it but if you did I didn't want you to think it would deprive of your chance to have children. Good luck.To everyone else: please, please get your pap smears.

Re: very personal question
Jenn, I had this done like 6 months ago, and I felt like I was the only person on EARTH who was going through this... I wish I would have read all of this when I had to go through it! I actually did the colposcopy and that still came back abnormal... FREAKED OUT... so I did the cryosurgery... wasn't as horrible as I thought... wasn't FUN.. but I got through it... and my last pap came back FINE!! THANK GOD... my annual is next week, so I'm praying everything will be fine still... but if you need anything or have any questions about what I went through, don't hesitate to ask!!! :) You'll be fine!

Re: very personal question
I didn't forum mail you, but I did have the freezing procedure, it's called 'cryotherapy'. It took about a half hour (this was a long time ago, it could have been less). It was a little crampy, the doctor called the nurse and she came right in and gave me some Naprosen and in a few minutes I felt better. For a few days you 'leak' a little watery brown stuff (yuck I know) and you wear a panty liner. After that, you would never know you had it done. I had paps every six months after that for about 2 years, and they were all normal, and now I go yearly. My cousins gyno told her the LEAP was safer than the cryo - seems like you are getting the oppositie story. She is thinking of having kids soon too. Which one are you having? I'm sure they are both perfectly safe and it's just a matter of physician preference. hang in there!

Re: very personal question
Jen fret not...I had a positive pap smear and I had the freezing of my cells. It might seem scary but all will be well. After my procedure I had to keep going back after to my GYN to get a pap smear every 6 mos. I do not have to go every 6 mos anymore b/c I have had all positive pap smear. I wish you all the best!!Take care

Re: very personal question
Hi LadiesI am back from having the cryosurgery done.
The procedure wasn't as bad as I thought and wasn't as bad as the colposcopy.
I am relieved its been done.
I have to go back for a check up in 3 weeks, and a pap smear in 3 months. I'll dig up this post again in 3 months and let everyone know if I have a normal pap or not. (I pray I do)!
Thanks for everyone's support.
Bless you all.
