Very PO'd~Some old bat hit my car and LEFT the scene!
Some old bat~ a 74 year old woman in an old Camry hit my car while it was parked in front of my house as I watched with my DH, inlaws and my aunt in law....she also had the nerve to leave! The police said that because I was not in the car, it's only a civil property damage case and there is nothing they could do. My car isn't even three months old!!! Not one dent, ding or scratch on it!!! Took the police THREE hours to show up. I am so mad!!!
Here's my car in the ad I bought it from. She's only a baby!!!
Re: Very PO'd~Some old bat hit my car and LEFT the scene!
She said ok, so I hit it. Here's a hundred and handed my DH a Hundred dollar bill. He said lady, that is not going to cover it! So she said ok, so call the police! and she drove off....when she got to the corner, one of our neighbors stopped her and she said I didn't hit anything and drove off! B****! I don't care how old she was, she was so lax about it I want her license taken away! It's not like she didn't have 20 feet to back up, even the officer who took the report said HOW did she manage to hit you with that much room!

This is why I think you should be required to take another driving test after you turn like 65! I know people say that it's unfair treatment and whatnot, but look at how many accidents are caused by elderly people!

I agree- I remember when my great-grandma was still driving well into her 70s, and we were all so nervous- she drove really slowly, but I was afraid someone would hit her. Some people drive so fast, even on side streets. I know it broke her heart to stop driving, but we were all a lot less worried about her.
And I was also in an accident in a parking lot- I'd pulled out of a spot and was struck by a 77 year old woman cutting across the empty spaces. My car had a lot of damage and she totally dragged her feet in calling it in to her insurance- it was a nightmare!
I hope you get some money out of her somehow!

Someone opened their car door into my less than 1 month old MDX while we were coming home from upstate. After I was looking at the dent in my door from his car I said 'My new car', MORONS comment was 'Well my car is new too...' Hello JACK A$$ YOU HIT ME!!
LUCKILY, I got his insurance card and all that info and his insurance co is sending me a check for $515 to have the dent taken out of the door.
Did you get her license #? Can you go through insurance?

That really stinks! Are you planning on going through her insurance to get it repaired? If for some odd reason you can't, your insurance will pay for the repair but you will have to pay your deductable and it will not effect your insurance. Good luck! I had a similar situation with some old guy, but the damage wasn't worth my insurance going up because I was in the car at the time. The guys wife told me 'it's not so bad' and the corner of my bumper was completey dented in. Luck for them I hit the bumper a couple of times and the dent popped out.

Did you get her license plate #? I was in a hit and run a year and a half ago and couldn't get the license plate #. Even though the police say it is civil, you may be able to call up insurance and they may say differently. Maybe they can put it through no fault. I'm so sorry this happened!

Sorry to hear that pook...did you get her plate number? You already know how I feel about Queens Parkers...so don't get me started. Maybe you should see if you can park in the driveway at the end of the block by the vacant house

I agree. Only they should start at 60 and continue every 5 years.
