Hello ladies. HOpe you all had a wonderful weekend. I saw my dress and tried it on!!! (I'll post pics after work- I didn't have time to upload them) We met w/ the priest (wasn't as scary as I thought it would be) and I made my centerpiece so I know EXACTLY how we want them now!!!! We also picked out our tuxes and I bought baskets for the programs and our bubbles and decorated them last night... they look great. And I know exactly how we want our bows for the pews (making them too!!) I had such a great weekend- it would've been perfect but I got into a car accident b/c some jerk sideswiped me!! He accelarated when he should've breaked.

Re: VERY PRODUCTIVE WEEKEND
Sorry about the accident Congrats on your productive weekend. I am doing pew bows on every pew also. Have you thought about getting them on ebay save yourself the time of doing it? I got 40 of these on ebay very reasonably.

Re: VERY PRODUCTIVE WEEKEND
Thanks! Yeah, but I really LOVE the way the ones we're doing look and they don't take more than 2-3 mins per bow and we're only doing about 15-16 of them. We're incorporating a rose and a blue flower (both silk) and some ivy into it and some blue and white thin ribbon and it's PERFECT!! Thanks for the suggestion though

Your welcome.
How do you fluff them? I am going to string a garland of roses(most likely fake) from each pew.

Re: VERY PRODUCTIVE WEEKEND
crinkle up newspaper and put it in between the loops to 'fluff them out' this way they don't lose their shape. I would hang them from a hanger in the closet so they don't get smooshed. Be careful how you hang those silk flower garland- we had a friend who used tulle draped across every pew but it made it very difficult to get in and out of the pews for guests entering and leaving and her grandmother almost fell trying to step over it after the guests finally dropped it all onto the floor.

How would I hang the garland? That is alot bows to 0fluff that way. I don't know if I have room to hang 40 bows. The bows are going on the pews that no one will be sitting at. My church is fairly large and it is broken into 2 sections. Ther first section where everyone will be sitting has 13 pews that the florist will do and th rest of the church I am going to use the bows. I am just doing it so the pictures look gorgeous.

Re: VERY PRODUCTIVE WEEKEND
Where are you hanging the garland? Where people won't be sitting or where they will? If it's where they shouldn't sit then I don't think that's a problem but if it's where people have to get in and out maybe use a rubber band to put over the pew in front of it (if there are posts??) It's hard to say b/c I don't know what your church pews look like.
Oh, you can put like 4 bows on each hanger- not 1 to a hanger even if you then put them in a plastic bag and put them under your bed or something- they hold shape better

The garland will hang where people will not be sitting. It is just to make the pictures pretty. I will have the florist do something that won't hamper people in the first 13 pews where the poeple will be sitting.

Re: VERY PRODUCTIVE WEEKEND
How far in advance did your friedn buy her silk garland? Do they turn or spoil or anything do they? I was thinking about getting these from thebridesbouquet.com.

Re: VERY PRODUCTIVE WEEKEND
Those are pretty- I'm sure if you bought the silk flowers they'd be find for Sept. I have silk garland that's been up for years and hasn't changed color or spoiled.

Re: VERY PRODUCTIVE WEEKEND
Yes, I'm ok. I swerved to the right at just the right second or our 'new' (new to us) car would've had the entire side of it smashed in. The guy was such a jerk!! And of all people to have in the car it was my mom and my FMIL!!! I was really shaken up and we had to meet w/ our priest for the first time 20 mins after that. It was quite the day!
