Vetro (Restaurant) Review
I know there are a couple of Vetro (by Russos on the Bay) girls on here so I just wanted to post my review.
I've been wanting to go since they opened, and FH took me last week for our anniversary. And all I can say is wow. It wasn't just the food, it was the whole experience. The food was incredible. FH had the caprese for his appetizer and I had an appetizer from this week menu from Veneto (every couple of weeks or so, the chef offers a tasting menu from a specific region of Italy). It was acini di pepe pasta with strawberries, figs, and shrimp in a pomegranate sauce, and it was as amazing as it sounds. For entrees, FH had the lamb chops served with polenta and I had the gnocchi stuffed with beef, pork, veal and swiss chard topped with white truffle oil. And for dessert he had the apple tart with vanilla gelato and I had something called the opera trio made with chocolate, hazelnut, and vanilla mousse. I am still drooling lol
I've heard some people say that the only downside is that the service is slow, and yes, the service isn't what I'd call speedy lol but it I think is more that you can tell that each dish is being made fresh and that they are more concerned about the overall experience you are having instead of getting your food out as quickly as possible. We will definitely be going back to Vetro and I highly recommend it as a special occasion place. All I can say is that if we were having a small wedding, I would absolutely want it here!
