I was under the impressin that the VH was 1 hour long, as in 1 extra hour to the party, meaning that my reception would be from 7pm - 1am. Apparantly I am wrong b.c last night Frank explained to me that the VH is not really a VH, but the Vienese table and that it included 30 minutes of overtime. If I wanted the full hour I would have to pay extra for it. Is this how it is done in other places as well ?

I think it's like that at WM manor too. Floral terrace I know gives it the full hour.

That's interesting, I never thought of asking RH's if it was the full hour or just 1/2.

Re: VH ~ Not an hour?
I am having a vienese room I believe and it is not extending onto my time but it is also included with my price pp. I made sure that it would not be on the dance floor to interfere with the party. I wouldn't want a dessert hour to take away from the band I'm paying so much for. See if they can set it up so it won't interfere with the dance floor.

I'm a WM bride, and my BM said that it will extend it 1 hour.

I know my RH charges a few dollars extra if you extend the VH to be an additional hour to the wedding. I think this makes sense since they then have to pay staff beyond the 5 hrs they normally work a wedding.

Re: VH ~ Not an hour?
yes...usually at most RH's the VH is included in the time of the 4hour reception with a 1/2hr. overtime unless u spend on the extra hour..they get u EVERYWHERE with cost! we extended the time because without that, imo it would've majorly shortened up the night & would eat into dancing time..we were so glad we did! totally worth it!

mine isnt an extra hour... its not an extra anything... i think it was like an extra $7 pp as an addon and you're basically paying for the desserts and coffee and whatever else... i know other places charge like $15 pp but i think thats when you get the additional hour

Re: VH ~ Not an hour?
they told us 45 mins - we didnt want the full hour, it takes away from the party - but we are also paying to add time to ours anyway - we are having a long a$$ wedding CH is 1.5 hours and then reception is 5 hours - we arent expecting everyone to stay until the very end, that is more for us (for FH and I) to dance with our friends and really party - kind of like an afterparty at the party hahahahaha - so many people say its over so quick so we wanted it to be long so that WE could enjoy it

I belive their regular Grand Vienese is 15 (which includes the 30 minutes overtime) and I 'think' the extra 30 minutes is somewhere between 5 - 10 dollars extra. I can't remember.

That is so awsome!!! I think I will be paying for the extra hour for the reception, not sure if I could afford the extra 30 minutes at CH....however...if I DID pay for the extra 30 min. at CH then I would def. be part of it... hmm... decisions, decisions... lol

It does make sense. I don't know why I thought it was an 'extra hour'.

My wedding was at CHCC and my VH was an EXTRA hour (with no extra charge for that hour). I think you can negotiate with your RH.

I never heard of that.. My RH said it was an extra hour added onto the event... so it would be 7-1
