My photographer is Duet. I love them! However, I am really confused if I should get a videographer. I don't think that I will every watch it. I think it is an extra 1500 for a videographer.
What are your opinions?
Is it really worth the money?
How many of you are getting a videographer?
Do you really think you are going to watch the video?

Re: Video?
We are getting video because I know people who did not get it and regret it because even tho you are at your wedding you don't see everything going on no matter what you miss certain things. Plus I know I am gonna wanna relive my wedding day over and over, also I can't wait to show my children our wedding video one day

I think it really depends on the person....I've heard people say they regret it and I've heard others say it was a complete waste of money.
Like you, I know I will only watch it like twice, so to spend $1500 on something I will only see a few times, I would rather put the money elsewhere.

Re: Video?
We haven't booked it yet, but probably will. Our photographer said we can let him know whenever we decide.
I know I'll want to watch it when we first get it, as I'm sure I'll miss half of my own wedding, just from being so overwhelmed and involved. I want to be able to see what it all looks like in the end. Also, maybe I'll want to watch it on our 25th or 50th wedding anniversaries.
Then another thing that hit me: I'll have a dance with my father, he'll dance with his mother. Kinda morbid, but one day they may not be around anymore, and it'll be the only way to get that moment back.

Re: Video?
i am still up in the air about the video. Some days I want one and other days I dont. But I would love to have something with all the family together since my grandparents who are my world are not getting any younger and It would be nice to show to my children what their great grandparents where like.

Re: Video?
we are! im the type of person that would watch it over and over again lolol
i also think that people who dont get video may or may not regret it.... but if you do, your screwed, and honestly for most people (not all) 1500 wont break the bank

Re: Video?
I am getting a video. I love watching videos and I want to be able to see everything that happens that day. I love watching old videos of family members who have passed away and I know one day important people in my life will pass on. Knowing I have a video to remember their voice, smile, etc. is really good.

Re: Video?
We're still undecided but leaning towards no. We are having a small wedding and the venue is rather small so I don't think we will miss too much. I was thinking of having someone to just film the ceremony. But then again, I find wedding ceremonies very boring...

Re: Video?
So I was totally against it initially.
Then I was home for the holidays and I uncle showed me a video of my grandfather's brother's wedding and it was so amazing. I got to see my mom when she was 4 as the 'veil girl' and my grandmother whom I have never met having a good time and sipping on wine. It was so beautiful and such a gift to see loved ones in their younger days and loved ones who are not with us anymore....and so I ended up changing my mind. I guess one day maybe someone will get to see our video and be as excited and as amazed as I was. I'm sure we will watch it too.
One this is for sure, I don't want any of those 'in your face' videographers. I just want someone who is chill and very discreet.
:) good luck!

Re: Video?
I don't want it. FH is dying for it. So, we'll get it. Like Christine I know I won't watch it. I know I'll love the photographs a lot more, so I do want a videographer that won't charge a ton but it'll look nice... because one thing I'll hate more than a video is crap video of my wedding.

Re: Video?
I'm having one, form deut also. I think its worth the money. We will watch it a few times, but it will be nice to have to show the kids and grandkids. It will also help us remember detials about ou very busy wedding day.
I had a friend who tried to have a friend video tape the ceremony and first dance for her and he didn;t turn on the camera. They have nothing taped and they regret it
