Video Dilemma - xpost

So I have a dilemma on my hands....

I was on Craigslist (I love all the free/cheap stuff you can find there), and I stumbled upon this ad for an offer for 'free HD/Blu Ray DVD with cinematography style.' Long story short, he was out of business for a few years and he's looking to expand his portfolio - he does our wedding for free, we give him rights to the video to use in marketing. Mind you, we have Duet booked for photo and video, so I don't need a video guy....BUT, I really, really, really wanted one of those Pennylane-like videos.

I spoke to FH and he was like give the guy a call, what's the harm. He seems like the real deal, he even said he wants to meet with us to show us he's a real person and all. But now, FH is now saying that since we already have video, maybe the two guys will get in the way and we should just forget this other one.

I'm so confused.....what would you do???

honestly, i would not have another videographer there

BUTTT if you wanna give him a chance, the real special cinematography stuff comes from teh EDITING process!!! maybe you can send him a copy of your raw footage and he can edit it for free

i would first look at some of his other work tho...

I would check with Duet. Some photogs/video people don't allow second shooters at events they have booked.

If you really want him get him. I don't see the harm as long as you don't think it'll be overkill having them both there.
