Video for your Wedding Photos? Anyone???

So...
After your ceremony.... You go take ur lovely pics with ur Fh right....
So OBV you will have Your photographer there bc He/she will take the photos...
but... WILL you have your Videographer there too??
To take Videos of that moment you are taking your pics?

I called my Videographer.... They are charging me $350 for location...

So technically is $350 for them to get 2hrs early as I am getting dress(12:00)....
$350 so when we go take pics and he is there recording too....

Do I need a videographer as I am taking my Wedding photos (between the Ceremony & Reception)?

TIA

That is totally upto you.

Some videographers dont charge extra, some do.
Speak to your FH and see if it's worth it.

I'm personally having my videographer there while we are taking pictures. (it was included in my package).

Re: Video for your Wedding Photos?

im having them there for pics, but thats just bc that is how the package works

plus im having a wedding trailer made, so they need the shots of us taking pics for the wedding trailer

it depends on your preference...do you want them there? do you feel 350 is worth it to have video of you taking pics?

what will you do with that footage?

will you be sad or regret it later if you dont have video of it all?

Re: Video for your Wedding Photos?

listen everything in the wedding world is negotiable!!

talk to them, tell them it is important to you that they are there and see if they will budge on price

i know weddings can get pricey and everything adds up, but you really dont want to have regrets and look back and wish you did something

haggle those video people if you really want it!

Re: Video for your Wedding Photos?

i mean that is a bit ridiculous that you are paying them to get there early...and they want 350 extra just to be 'on location' for pics, that is silly

how many 'hours' is your video package for??

That is the problem!!!!

We were into the idea the photo/video is 8hrs!!!

So Photo is Good... we got them for 2xtra hrs and they will b with us 1:00-11:00....

But i wanted to find out how much was video for 2xtra hrs... and that is wherre they told me 'Our contract is for ONLY ur Ceremony & ur reception. If you want us to record when u getting ready & another location after the Ceremony is $700. $350 per each lovation.'

I agree with Lovey Dovey...

Everything is negotiable. Call them and try to work something out. For example if you can only afford $500.00 tell them that is all you have..and how much can they do for you....

If you are already booked with them and have put down a deposit, I'm afraid you have pretty much lost your ground to negotiate anything.

However, if this is something that is really important to you, then you may still be able to get them down, but you would have to be willing to change videographers and lose your deposit. How much was your deposit? You could shop around for other videographers to see how much their package is and tell your current vendor that if they can't give you a lower price you are going to book another vendor.

It's a bit tricky and complicated though and you'll have to check your contract to see if you break the contract now if you have to pay anything more. Might not be worth the effort.

Maybe what you can do is take a few more pictures at your venue during cocktail hour so the videographer will be there for that?

Re: Video for your Wedding Photos? Anyone???

I dont have a contract with them...
I am doing things very differnt from many brides I got an All inclusive reception halll... Everything is included So whatever I get it is what it is...
If i want to add something its my option...

So my photographer DJ MC Centerpieces Videographer limo is included...

But every vendor i have is flexible but them...

I can't 'take them away' since its the vendor that comes with my package...

So i am not sure what to do now...

$700 is a lot fo money... Fh and I are able to pay with it, thank God, just deciding IF i should continue & fight til I get the discount OR if i really Need the video while Im taking my pics after the ceremony... but i wanted to make sure everyone elses thoughts on having or not having video while they are taking pics in their spot after ceremony.
