Video or No Video
Original post by kitty1224
I keep having this dilemma with having avideographer or not having one. I feel that I do not need one because realistly how many times do you watch it. How many of you are having one and how many are not. Many of my married friends say they never watch them and that I will not regret it. What do you think.

Do it!!
Re: Video or No Video
Definitely get the video. Even if you don't think you'll be watching it a lot, just think about the day when you'll be able to show your kids. My parents got married in 1979 and didn't have a professional video, but they had a family friend take some footage with an ancient video camera. Most of the footage is barely visable because the quality is so poor, but the few scenes that come up clear are beautiful. I always get emotional when i see that video and how young and in love my parents were. It's true that pictures speak 1000 words but I don't think anything will make you relive the meories of your day more than a video. HTH
Re: Video or No Video
I say have it! I can't see regret spending money on that. you don't want to regret not doing it, since you'll never have that day again! IMO
Re: Video or No Video
I am going to bring my own video camera and share it w/ everyone to video things
Re: Video or No Video
At first I did not want one, but then FH and I where talking and there are some guests that live out of the country that cant make it to the wedding.. so I was like okay... that would be nice to send them a video. Then we met with Duet and saw their video and I changed my mind in the spot! So yes, we are having a videographer now and I am very happy that I changed my mind.
Re: Video or No Video
I can say I am having the same problem. Cant decide...but everyone I know that didnt have one regrets it!
Re: Video or No Video
I say you should do. I'm doing it for the memories and hopefully one day would love to show my kids 'mommy and 'daddy's' wedding. I wouldn't want anything more out of my wedding then great pics and a great video. Good luck with your decision and do what you feel is right. HTH!

Re: Video or No Video
I will watch it whenever I want to relive my wedding day. Also it will capture so many things that I am sure I will miss.
Re: Video or No Video
We are not having one. What we are doing is buying and setting up a handycam on a tripod at the reception and having the dj announce that it is there. We hope that guests will go and turn it on and talk to it and turn it off. That way we can see everyone AND see our friends/family get drunker as the tape goes on. HEhehe

Re: Video or No Video
We're not having a videographer...we just had to cut something out, and this was the one thing that we felt that we didn't need. A friend will videotape a few parts of the wedding that we want captured on video.

Re: Video or No Video
We decided to go without the video - partially for money reasons, partially because we realistically thought we'd never watch it. However, FH is buying a good video camera and we are using that to videotape the church/reception and we are giving that responsibility to FFIL. HTH
