if you get a good one, they won't be annoying.
i havent booked one yet, but i am going to see timeless treasures and its only 1250. even if i look at it once a year for the next 10 years, it's worth it to me.

I def thinks it's worth it....the only things you're going to have after the wedding is over is the pics, the husband, and the video. Pictures can't capture everything that happened...it's nice to have a video reminder of the day that you can pop in anytime you want. JMO.

For me it was a must have. They always capture the moments that you want to remember for a life time.
I'm using Wild Rose Video they are well worth the $$.

Completely agree...There are some things that photo's can't capture...It is a great thing to have even if you watch it twice!

I think it's definitely something you would very likely regret NOT having later on. Video captures many moments that you will not see, because you will be so busy and crazed on your wedding day (well, at least I know that's how I will be!).
A good videographer will be unobtrusive and you won't even know he's there. I booked Ray from Timeless Treasures for that reason (plus, his work is beautiful and no cheese whatsoever). Plus, he's only $1,250, and that includes bride's house coverage, which is usually extra with others.

There are tons out there that are reasonably priced. Many photo places offer it in a package, that's how I found the best deals.

i was like you. totally aganist it because of the 'obtrusiveness' factor. but then i watched a few at the photographers we went to, and i changed my mind. its something that i want to have on film that i can watch whenever i want. and if you decide not to get it, no big deal, some people just don't feel the need for it, and its totally understanable

i wasnt going to do one at first, but then I thought of something
My parents didnt have a video, my father passed away when i was 10, if i had that video today, it would be a priceless treasure... so we are now doing a video

I am going with a video. It's so nice to go back and watch the different things that happened at your wedding. Let's face it you are not going to be everywhere every minute. I say definitely think about getting one. You will regret it if you don't IMO.

It was a must have for me! I think it is a nice thing to have so you can look at it every now and then and reminisce. It may be a lot of money for you know but, 20 yrs down the road the money you spend will mean nothing.

I still have not decided on that, I will have to see how I am on my budget first. If it turns out we have some $$ to spare (probably not) we can get one. More then likely, I will not have one.

Re: Video or no video...that is the question!
2 friends of mine got married this past year, and both regret whole heartedly not getting a video...
To me Photo and Video are more important than even a limo and flowers...of course I will be having all of them... But the way I see it is:
Flowers make it look nice, but they do die and limos make you arrive in style... both disappear after your special night...a video as well as pictures lasts a lifetime....
To me other than my dress and hall they were my two most important vendors!!!
